RE: Have you also seen improvements in your teeth or gums Grant?

Yes, a quite a bit. Before starting my diet I had a lot of recession. It has almost fully recovered now. My teeth also just feel a lot stronger.

Grant, thanks for posting your timeline.  Very helpful!

Very helpful Grant. Thank you!! 😀

It is interesting because it shows this is not just a 6 month quick fix fiet, but the body does need a lot longer to fully repair itself. And also that it is able to repair itself under the right circumstances I find very astonishing.

Grant could you copy/paste this timeline to separate post on blog?

So that it won't disappear here. Maybe with some references to your books where you described different parts (like lutein in chapter 13 - page 208 - in second book).

Would be great if it's updated from time to time if something change and with all setbacks described (now lutein problem is hidden in book for people that doesn't believe in toxicity) so we could link to it.

Sure. I’ll try to combine it with an explanation on why I opted out of treatment for CKD.

Grant,

My daughter's eczema has healed at the deeper level of the skin (no more weeping of lymph fluid and skin isn't thin any more), but she still has intense itch and surface level hives, flaking, and occasional cracking. I've read that as the bowels try to heal that the gut flora can temporarily become over-grown producing high amounts of histamine which can trigger the itching and hives even in areas where the eczema is completely healed. In some cases it even causes diarrhea.

Did you experience symptoms of high histamine or histamine intolerance? If so, do you recall when it subsided?

Hi Trista,

It’s very good to hear that your daughter’s condition is improving.

I did not experience symptoms of high histamine or histamine intolerance, other than maybe once or twice. It could have been when I tried some potato chips. However, I have not try potato chips again since then to test that hypothesis.

Grant,

Thank you! I appreciate all the time and effort you put into the research, books, blog, and responding on the forum.

My daughter was having a severe reaction to literally everything except oats. In response, we both eat a diet of primarily oatmeal as this gives her the most relief. She's now having a high histamine response I'm guessing due to the fact that oatmeal works as a prebiotic for gut flora. I'm at a bit of a loss at what to do in the meanwhile (since her body can't tolerate much of anything else) other than just tough it out until her body finds its balance.

Hi Trista,
Are you still including some form of meat protein?

I don't know what to recommend as an alternative to oatmeal other than maybe giving rice another try?

Hey, Trista.

I was puzzled as to why my toddler seemed to benefit from Benadryl, an antihistamine. Thanks to you I might have an explanation.

It would also fit with his symptoms' timeframe. His worst symptoms always seem to occur a good 24 to 48 hours after ingestion.
