should people with over-active nerves... ignore them?

The lights feel too bright, the room too cold. The shoulder feels stiff, the bed unforgiving, the back doesn't want you to lean over. The sweater is too warm. The stomach is too full or too empty. The feet are too hot or too cold. The noise is too loud, the chair too hard.
I think this is a general enough question (because I think others here might have this issue of over-active nerves) that it belongs here in the lifestyle section and not in the off-topic section.
I'm thinking this might be the result of too much pain in a lifetime... Or it might be something else... Like just fried nerves. Anyways...
Maybe ignoring all the nerves and telling yourself everything is OK is exactly what is needed? I'm going to try it.
It's sort of like this: If your nerves are over-reactive, then they are lying.
Maybe you could even take it a step further and tell them you they have cried wolf too many times and you are busy.
Maybe getting into an uproar about pain starts a spiral.
Fake it till you make it?
