I needed to disable self sign-ups because I’ve been getting too many spam-type accounts. Thanks.
snacking, eating too often, eating constantly
Quote from Joe2 on November 27, 2025, 11:08 pmMight be more to cortisol levels than frequency and timing of meals. While I have used OMAD to over achieve in high stress environment in younger days, I have also relaxed and taken easy comfortable trips doing it.
Eat when hungry. Feels like a good idea. As I get stronger, as I recover from crippling sacroiliitis and sundry isotretinoic issues, I find I achieve quite enough and move quite enough with zero frantic efforts. I take the easy jobs and do them at leisure. Most require an afternoon of hard work. My outlook is tempered by the wisdom gained by grinding for decades and seeing most of my profits syphoned off to ungrateful employers. I am the employer now.
It is a pleasure to complete work early for customers who started out frantic and realized their work was done better, cheaper and much sooner than expected. No need to tell them that I slept in yesterday and did not feel like working. The greatest pleasure is taking immediate care of customers in dire straights with zero stress on me. Street blocked off with 100 year old trees downed in a storm? Other contractors busy elsewhere and trucks can not get in anyway? No problem. I was kicked back watching that storm a few blocks away. I can drive my equipment without trucks through yards to get to yours. How bout I loan you a generator and 50 gallons of water while your electric and well is down for the next few days too?
Watching others' stress melt away while working with all the neighbors out cutting hauling branches turns into best kind of memorable party. Nice when people yell from across the street, "You are the best contractor in the world." Like the stupidest nicest compliment in the world. Talk about devoted trustworthy customers for years too.
Curious. Out of all the body builders I trained with, it has always been a chore to keep enough calories coming in to keep the mass on. Meanwhile I know quite a few and used to be one of those laid back farmer strong guys who do not look like much - until you see them move. Kind of like Anatoly.

For what it is worth, eating OMAD did not entail going short on calories nor quality for me. Curious too that my farmer strong friends are living strong into their 70's while I have too much experience with body building friends dying much younger. Not sure how accurate media reports are. Still hurts when a genius like this passes.

I know very little and I do know this lad was a month younger than me and most of the trainers I study now learned much of what they know at Poliquin's feet. I wonder what he thought of OMAD.

With your sacroiliitis, did you reach a point to where you could not lift much weight? How long after you started low ‘a’ diet did it take for you to be able to pick up heavy objects with out pain?

Quote from Joe2 on November 28, 2025, 10:06 amI could not stand, sit nor lay down. I held a constant "dip" position on walker or countertop. Focus was traction to pull that leg out and across.
2 or 3 times a night pain relented enough to lay down. Within 15 minutes I was clawing my way onto walker in screaming pain. Started 11/22/2022. Eased off enough for 90 minute naps once every few days in late February, 2023. 4/15/2023 I slept 10.5 hours straight and hung up walker.
I stopped eating liver and all vitamin A foods 11/22/2022. It hurt too much immediately to continue. I tested it mid December. Learned it is always a mistake to think that it can not hurt any worse. Eating liver hurt worse.
By summer I walked a 19 minute mile. By November, 2023, 13 minute mile. Still improving.
