Sound sensitivity
Quote from Guest on January 14, 2019, 6:29 pmHi,
I’m on day 4 of zero A (best I can measure.)
Yesterday and today, by evening I’m feeling very sensitive to sound. Just overall like I kind of want to mentally shut down, like being completely alone would be ideal to avoid the stimulation.
I’m a mom and all... but this feels unusual to me.
Detox? I might have a mild cold, so if it’s still going on in a few days, maybe that’s the test.
I posted yesterday about mild hives appearing on my face yesterday (still there.)
I’m speechless at the rapidity of this response. My poor body must have been fighting for so long.

Quote from somuch4food on January 14, 2019, 6:41 pmSound and light sensitivy are symptoms I experience too.
I have always had trouble falling asleep with lights or sounds. It's like the slightest stimulation would prevent me from relaxing and be able to fall asleep. It has gotten better since starting low A.

Quote from puddleduck on February 2, 2019, 7:45 pmI’ve had some irritable days since starting, as well. Have you noticed any improvements yet, Sadie?

Quote from Guest on February 2, 2019, 8:33 pmI’m not sure actually. I’d forgotten I’d noted this symptom until the subject popped back up on here.
Ive been very tired, even sick feeling, by mid afternoon. Craving a drink by like 4pm, and I stopped drinking anything at all for like 5 months before starting low/zero A.
So no, I’d say if hasn’t fully gone away.
But we’ve had two cold viruses back to back in our house so it’s hard to say what’s what.
Though that’s interesting too - my kids and husband have been taking turns getting very sick all month, and I haven’t gotten fully sick this whole time.
Am I healthier without A this past month? Is the detoxing A making me tired/sensitive come evening? Is the detoxing A fighting the viruses as per the hygiene theory? None of the above?
interesting.

Quote from puddleduck on February 3, 2019, 9:00 pmSadie — Ah your mid afternoon slump doesn’t sound pleasant! =/ But it is interesting that you haven’t become as sick as everyone else in your family. Who knows what exactly is going on with all of this, eh? It does seem that detox can come along with negative side effects, though other factors are probably at play here and there, as well. Hopefully some of what’s going on in your case means the vitamin A detox is working! 🤞
