Spelt and bread spread / Gout - Diet problems -> food extension
Quote from Joel on August 13, 2020, 12:09 amSince I want to limit my bean&meat consumption due to my acute gout attack, which is getting much worse from meat and beans, I am looking for quick alternatives.
- Spelt is very low in vitamin A right? (Will then add spelt bread, spelt flakes, spelt pops, spelt flour)
- Does anyone have a bread spread tip? Almond butter or macadamia nut butter should be okay since almond and macadamia are also low, right?
I think I expand with the following things, so that I can omit meat & beans without any problems and still get enough nutrients. (I also supplement proteins, minerals and vitamins so I should be fine on meat-free days, as far as possible)
Can someone tell me if the following foods are okay or where to be extra careful.
In the morning:
Spelled bread with almond butter / macadamia butter, apple, date, figNoon:
Quinoa, spelled, millet flakes -> with blueberries, raspberries, pineapple, banana, macadamia / para-nut, apple / puree, raisins -> and almond milk / coconut water
(So of course only a selection of the things)In the evening:
White / brown rice, meat, bone broth, white onion, ginger, garlic, lemon, lime, turmeric, Oil, black beans, peeled potatoes, radishes, red beetroot, parsnips, bamboo shoots, white mushrooms, artichokes, peeled cucumberI know there are many extensions but at the age of 22 I cannot risk more and more gout attacks because of the strict diet. If my body didn't strike, I'd like to be very strict..
Thank you for your help!

It startet a few days ago in the night, before I never had any problems with meat&gout. But my uric acid level was always at the upper limit an since the diet and daily meat&beans it was over the limit. But I was doing the preventive things, like drinking much, taking VitC and I am very young, so I didnt expect that I really get an gout attack. Now I have to change the diet and be careful

@joel
I am sorry to hear about your issue , I hope it goes away soon .
My issues I don't know what to call it , After eating meat or eggs , I get pain in the top of my hands , feet , not specifically my big toe , although sometimes the pain radiates around it . The. pain is kind of a needles and pricks .. more specific peripheral neuropathy .
I never had issues with eating meat , meat is the only thing we all can tolerate without any issues , and it is the cornerstone for our nutritional requirements . This is what exactly gets me worried , without meat I will become weak and will never recover .
This problem only started when I increased my meat intake to higher levels In january I did that , I was eating lots of protein in a day .
7 Egg whites.
400Gm of grass fed australian beef500 Gm of chicken breast
and riceThats a lot of protein !!!
After 3 months on this diet , I started. feeling weak suddenly and I had Diarrhea , it was like my body couldn't handle it more . Stopping meat and eggs makes the symptoms go away , but at the same time , as only potatoes and beans are left to eat , I become weak .
I initially thought it was selenium , but I was wrong , even @jiri didnt buy that .beta-alanine could be the issue , but in beta-alanine people get tingling sensation , my symptoms are needles and pricks
I am worried my kidneys have been damaged , I don't know if kidney function test is the main criteria for kidney health check up . Either ways I will share my kidney function test results for the past 6 months and recent one I did
My kidney test reulsts in feb 2020 , when i didn't have any issues
total protein -- 8.18 g/dl ( normal range 6.40 - 8.40 )
Albumin -- 4.92 ( normal range 3.50-5.20)
A : G ratio. -- 1.50 ( max value == 2)
Urea. -- 42 ( 17 -- 43 normal << this might be of worry ?)
Uric acid -- 5.40 ( 3.50 -- 7.20 normal)Then after few months when I got symptoms due to eating meat , I repeated the test on 17 april 2020 ( that time I wasn't eating meat )
BUN ( urea nitrogen ). ---- 14 ( normal 6-20)
Uric acid 4.9. ( 3.5. 7.2 normal range << uric acid went down)I think it's not gout , but I don't know about kidney damage .
could 1kg of meat a day be dangerous ?

Quote from HeyJude on August 23, 2020, 12:01 pmAlmonds are VERY high in oxalates. With gout, you might possibly have a problem with oxalates.
