Sunflower oil as a Vitamin E Supplement...
Quote from Deleted user on October 14, 2019, 5:21 pmHello,
I live in the UK and I've been trying to source a naturally refined, organic, cold-pressed, high oleic sunflower oil. Apparently that is the precise combination required to avoid carotenoids being the product without losing the nutrients within the oil.
I can find unrefined, organic, cold-pressed, high oleic sunflower oil.
I can find refined, organic, expeller-pressed, high oleic sunflower oil.
But I cannot locate a "naturally refined", "cold-pressed" combination.
So currently I'm stuck with this and hope my family and I are not consuming carotenoids 😀
Anyone here have luck finding naturally refined, organic, cold-pressed, high oleic sunflower oil?
Cheers
R.

Quote from bludicka on October 14, 2019, 10:18 pmI use for cooking organic, expeller-pressed steam-deodorized (minimal refined, without the use of solvents, high temperatures) high oleic sunflower oil:
https://www.rapunzel.de/en/organic-product-frying-oil--1002730.html
Or small amounts of partially refined olive oil steam-deodorized, lower in VA for cold cooking:
https://www.byodo.de/en/produkte/essig-und-oel/haushaltsoele/brat-olive-mediterran/
"the organic Frying Oil Olive, mediterranean is won through a cold pressing process, which is gentle on nutrients - naturally won from the first pressing. This is followed by a steam wash (= gentle deodorization), where intensive dyestuffs and flavouring agents are extracted from the oil at low temperatures. In this way the oil becomes more thermally stable."

For vitamin E are better soaked, sprouted sunflower seeds.

[OP here; Mr Genereux kindly reset my account because I made my username my email address. Doh.]
Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who hit this problem. Yes, I have finally decided on a high oleic, expeller pressed, refined, organic sunflower oil aswell. And will hope for the best too.
To all: Thanks very much for all the responses -- you've given me a lot of answers/options that have stopped me going round in circles. Rapunzel, Byodo & Clearspring all look as close to the VA-Detox criteria as you can get.

Okay, thanks, I'll look into that aswell.
