"the body does excrete Poison/"Vitamin A" through the sweat and sebaceous (sebum) glands."

Could it be a good idea to use saunas, go for a jog everyday etc? I feel like this could speed up the process.

@max-3 yes humans are made to move and sweat. Not sit 15 hours a day in front of PC/TV... I do sauna in colder months. Now I sweat a lot during cycling..

I really was going to post about this sooner or later.  I'm glad you did @max-3.

I'm sweating a lot more because it is gardening season, and lots of toxins are coming out of me.    I stink (even when I'm not gardening), and I'm itchy.

I'm sure it would be MUCH SMARTER to sweat all year.  It's a shame to let all that time go by non-sweating!

I have a broken sauna in my hoarding pile somewhere.  Time to get it fixed.

HOWEVER:  big caveat:  I actually fear the sauna quite a bit, which is why it fell to disuse.    I know for myself that I have to use the thing WITH GREAT CAUTION.  The last time I tried to use it, things went south pretty badly.  I ended up taking an unscheduled nap on the cellar floor.  I don't deal with heat well, and I bet others here do not either.

I bet Grant sweats a lot with his cycling.

I used to think saunas were a great idea, that sweating was a wonderful detoxification method. I changed my mind though when I researched detoxification more. Our body is designed to excrete toxins in bile and urine. We just don't excrete many toxins in sweat but we do lose valuable electrolytes. We excrete almost no vitamin A in sweat. Sauna heat is also not great for men either.

What is important and healthy is engaging in vigorous exercise daily which does result in some sweating anyway. I'm not a fan of cycling though for quite a few reasons but each to their own.

@tim-2 "I'm not a fan of cycling though for quite a few reasons but each to their own."

Heh most people are not fans of cycling, but I can tell you why. Because 1. you need at least some level of fitness to enjoy riding bike. It's not fun going 20km/h and being completely out of breath  2. they never tried what is like to ride better bike that actually fits then and that is actually properly set up for them. When I see "normal" people ride a bike it's really comedy.. 3. you need good gear which means bike shoes with stiff carbon sole and inside the shoes proper insoles that fit's your feet(flat feet, high arch etc..) saddle that fits your sit bones and good quality clothes mainly padded shorts.. Simply you can try "real cycling" and you will love it and you can try some old bike in normal clothes and you will hate it.. If you think it's unhealthy due to pressure on the prostate etc. that also isn't the case if you have everything right.. I like cycling mainly because it is very friendly to my joint apparatus in comparison to almost all sports.. I damaged my joints a lot with bodybuidling. So I can't run, do some contact sports(I would love to do MMA) etc.. So cycling is perfect for that + it's my main way of commute to the work etc.. It's great tool to keep you resilient when you ride in every weather.  It teaches you how to endure discomfort, suffering during the long rides. Basically it builds your character. When you can do some hard ride, than everything is much easier. Now you don't need to do specifically cycling for this purpose, but for me it's nice bonus..

@jiri

Yeah you made some good points.

I personally enjoy cycling on cycling paths doing it in a relaxed way with friends.

The reason I don't like it for fitness is because it's not a basic human movement, a movement like running fast (barefoot on grass is best) is what our body has evolved to do for millions of years and doing it exercises our body in ways that benefit bones, ligaments, tendons, muscles and the nervous system in a very functional way. I also don't like longer endurance exercise, I favour shorter term intense movement, i.e. look at sprinters vs marathon runners. Also cycling on the road carries a high risk of serious injury, annoys motorists and you're breathing in car fumes as well.

Having said this it's definitely better than not exercising so it's just a difference of opinion over small details.

@jiri

Yeah ok makes sense if it's a form of exercise you can do without aggravating your joints. Perhaps I'm exaggerating the downsides of cycling.

@tim-2 I also don't like that extreme adaptation to endurance exercise. I like more intense 2-3 hour rides. For sure no long ride 4-7 hours like many cyclists do.. I also don't like riding hard all the time. For sure not every day. It feel unbalanced. Your legs are destroyed and upper body doesn't do anything basically.. So I like mixing it with calisthenics.  I agree that it's dangerous on the roads. Now I am riding MTB so like 50% off road, but next year I want some road/gravel bike again. That speed is crazy addictive hehe. Yeah group rides are great. You can ride last in the group and pedal almost for free. But it's really dangerous. Somebody makes a mistake and the whole group can go down..

Maybe dancing?  riding a bike hurts my butt, gardening hurts my back and so does running.  I'm relieved I don't have to fix the sauna, LOL.

Hiking in nature is one of the best exercise and relax at the same time..
