SYNTHETIC va

Hi Guys, I was discussing all of our exploits with some WAPF'ers.  As you can imagine, such discussions could end up heated!

One thing we agreed on easily is that no one should be taking any SYNTHETIC va.

I thought I would start a thread about speculations on whether synthetic VA in animal feeds, milk, vitamins etc are a part of this vitamin A overload that is NEW.  (ie, perhaps making VA overload worse, confusing the body even more, perhaps harder to get rid of or etc)

I'd like to point out something dismaying:  My grain store sells organic chicken feed and regular... but BOTH have vitamin A acetate added!  :0

It is hardly talked about and I can't find the link but synthetic retinol is not the same as natural retinol. Natural retinol has different enantiomers or isomers from synthetic surprise surprise...

Supplemental vA is a big part of the problem. US women get more vA (retinol and beta carotene) from supplements than they get from food. If they didn't get any vA from supplements then their mean vA intake would be under the RDA.

As a WAPFer I thought that anyone that criticised WAPF lore was so ignorant. If you agreed on synthetic vA that doesn't mean you influenced them one iota on natural vA LOL

It occurred to me that if synthetic VA is coming through animals because of supplemented feeds, a person wanting to avoid  synthetic VA would have to make their own animal feeds or only get VA from ... Vegetable sources!    AAAKKK

holy cow

LOL!  However, strangely enough, I learned about GRANT from a WAPF'er!

Sounds like that WAPFer's faith was weak LOL
