What are the odds that some people in the world want us sick, infertile and or dead?

Quote from lil chick on August 22, 2024, 6:43 amPeople think supplements of vitamins and minerals are all so good! Turns out more isn't always more. Minerals are particularly hard to supplement without causing a push down here, pop up there problem. (article talks about copper overload). Copper overload is horrible.
In many ways animal supplementation issues mirror human supplementation issues. We've gone a bit too supplement-crazy and it is biting us on the butt.
As some smart stoic said in the far past: Let food be thy medicine
And it isn't always supplements. My two cats died of kidney failure, after being on "uretic support kibble" their whole lives. There was cranberry and spinach in there. What cat would eat cranberries and spinach? Why are high Oxalate foods in a uretic formula cat food? Because it sells cat food to "whole food-eees". The hardest thing about it all is they make this food yummy to the pets and they are addicted to it. Especially cats. They want their usual kibble and nothing else will do!

Quote from Tanveen on August 18, 2025, 11:03 amYes, I have stopped all supplements (even b12) to see the effect and let the body try and balance itself rather than assuming we know better and supplement. At this point, less seems to be more. Even if we followed an ancestral diet, I think we would still have problems due to supplementation of base materials (milk, flour, eggs) and changing diet habits (not eating seasonally, not soaking certain foods, not leaving food to dry in sunlight etc).
I was just watching a cooking programme and they cooked red spinach which I had not seen before. I looked it up and red spinach contains more beta carotene than green spinach.

Quote from Joe2 on August 19, 2025, 11:32 amI remember throwing fits if someone put spaghetti on my plate not to my specs. Pile of noodles here. Pile of plain ground beef there. Tiny spoon of tomato sauce all the way over there. And as big a pat of butter as I could get on the noodles. Then I ate the noodles and butter and beef in alternating bites. Man, now want some.

Quote from Joseph on August 19, 2025, 8:05 pmIt is intentional. I just posted that some fancy dog food just shipped to my boss's farm, called "Chicken and Brown Rice" also contains, peas, spinach, sweet potatoes, carrots, fish oil and a vitamin a supplement. And I see the tumors and the horrible eye boogers and blindness in the animals. It is intentional. If you keep a pet these days you ought to make their food yourself. A dog needs nothing more than "Chicken and Brown Rice" or even better "Beef and brown rice". I don't have a dog anymore, but I do still keep birds, and they get ground oats. Pain in the ass, really, since I don't even eat eggs anymore, but hey, they are fun to watch.

Quote from Joe2 on August 19, 2025, 8:50 pmNot sure where I commented similar on this blog or elsewhere. It is purely intentional. Back in 2023 early fall, our birds stopped laying. 3 months. Usually only happens a few weeks in January. Online friends all over US same thing. Lady in Vermont grabs her goats' feed throws it in the coop and birds lay next day. We all went nuts. Now we all buy organic whole grains, make and mix our own. Our girls get barley and oats soaked a few hours daily. They also get some cooked rice and oatmeal from our table. We lost 7 out of 14 birds before this to pharma lie that is Mareks' disease. Fraudulent virus excuse to destroy factory farm 200k flocks and sell vaccines that do not work anyway.
What we all had in common was we used commercial feeds in 2023. Now all our birds are crazy healthier. We have 5 year old birds laying like they are 2 year olds. Zero lameness that signals Mareks'. Zero need to dose them with B1 to treat the Mareks. Never seen birds this healthy.
Same with dogs. Ours get ground whole chicken or ground beef daily. Some cooked white rice, oatmeal and some charcoal. Every once in awhile chicken broth from our soup bowl. Before 2023 our dogs got similar with emphasis on organ meats. Killed 1 in 2022, another in 2024 and the third is now 11 and still improving. The fourth little guy never got commercial nor organs in his feed. Never had a dogs this tough. The spills and falls this guy takes and rolls right out of are a mess. His uncle was almost as reckless and sometimes came home gimping. This guy is like flexible steel.
It is certainly intentional. These companies know what they are doing. We were hearing all mainstream media crowing about egg shortages a month before our stopped laying. Legacy network news casters went on for months about it. Kept going long after we were back to handing out eggs to all our neighbors again. What is the etymology of pharmakeia again?

Quote from Tanveen on August 20, 2025, 10:41 amI find it hard to believe it is not intentional given the sheer amount of research that goes into increasing it in our food despite contradictory evidence/ studies. Just today, the BBC reported a superfood, stearyl, being added to bee food, to increase the number of bees being born and said that it contains nutrients that had previously been absent from bee food (sugar and water. How did bees produce honey before? Is it to produce more honey? It was sold as protecting food security). I googled ‘does stearyl increase beta carotene in honey’ and whilst it does not, it can increase the stability of beta carotene so it is absorbed better.

Quote from Tanveen on August 20, 2025, 10:43 amThere is a lot of reporting on climate change now and it seems a matter of time until we start getting ‘carbon labels’ on food and perhaps restrictions on how many carbon credits we have.
