vA and semen - low sperm count, but way out?
Quote from Shannon on November 9, 2023, 10:47 amI suspect that when the levels of vA are sufficiently high, the seminal fluid becomes an exit route for vA metabolites.
This explains some personal issues as the exiting vA can cause tissue damage, rashes, and burns.
But, this also says that a certain amount does exit through this route and is thus a way to INCREASE elimination of vA, at least for men.
This study basically says low sperm count is associated with an increasing amount of vA in semen:

Potentially, but because it may contain retinoic acid, beta carotene, etc. that can also cause damage. And, something I can speak from personal experience.
If having sex with a partner, they should be aware...vA can cause irritation and rashes.

Quote from Arket on November 9, 2023, 11:01 amMy semen looked quite yellow today. Maybe I should start selling it as retinol face cream that contains very bio available zinc?

Quote from lil chick on November 10, 2023, 8:00 amJiri and I have both talked about caustic/acidic/detox pee too in a couple of threads. Could be a factor in the ureter area. I think it is similar to nose soreness. And sweat that itches and burns. Tears that itch. Itchy earwax.. It's endless. I have thought from the start that cleanliness is important in this fight, just to keep things down to a dull roar.

Oh yes, the excretion of fluids and sebum in different areas of the body. It is endless.
Separately, I seem to have issues when I take forms of Vitamin D3. I do not know if this is D3 accelerating export of vA thru fluids, OR if it is an incipient in the supplement (like vA itself).
I have separately tried D3 that was animal-based (lanolin exposed to UVB), and lichen/plant based at about 2,000 IU level. They both cause a large uptick in burning pee within days. And, go away within a week upon stopping.

Quote from Arket on November 10, 2023, 9:22 amI have trouble with vitamin d supplements also. I get very dry mouth from both d3 supplements (lanolin and lichen). It is impossible for me to supplement d3 because of it. I don't have literally ANY moisture in my mouth when I supplement d3 and drinking water is not helping at all. I'm using Sperti lamp every other day in fall, winter and spring and when it's summer I just take long walks wearing just tiny shorts and nothing else.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I am having to do now....skin exposure rather than supplemental D3.
But, sun exposure beyond 5,000 IU, I get some dizziness and headaches. Beyond 5 minutes of Sperti, the same. However, I feel like my tolerance is improving. (just nervous about poking the bear and moving up toward 10,000 IU)
If I don't get sun (or Sperti), I am extremely susceptible to HSV-1 / cold-sore outbreaks, and probably what enabled me to get my first case of COVID.

There are different STDs, but the lowering of cell turnover should help the immune system better contain them. 'Course virulence may over-ride this behavior if the virus is particularly aggressive and inducing cell death (and thus transmission inside the tissue).
Probably a bit personal, but I have experienced break-outs of a rather benign molluscum which normally only happens with kids. Doctors can zap them with cold (nitrogen), but until my cell turnover comes back down, I am susceptible.
At least, that's my theory. There may be other factors that vA metabolites inside the cells have in impacting viral activity.
