Vitamin a and a high-fat diet increasing risk for obesity, diabetes
Quote from tim on June 25, 2019, 6:43 amThe research team also found that expression of genes that control glucose metabolism and insulin signaling pathways were higher in rats that consumed sufficient amounts of vitamin A. These results suggest that vitamin A combined with a high-fat diet may lead to a higher body weight and increased risk of insulin resistance and diabetes.

The problem with this study is the bias towards VA being neutral and high fat being unhealthy. They needed an additional two groups that were not fed a high fat diet and with one of those groups being fed deficient amounts of VA. Regardless they found that VA promoted changes that increased the risk of diabetes.

Anyone here heard of a low carb guy called "Butter Bob"? He is a great guy. I wonder about his recent bout with vertigo. This is something I struggle with and now suspect has been caused by vitamin A.

I don't have time to watch this whole video, could only watch half, but here is my 2 cents. She is ALMOST there, though with her ideas that something was wrong with Butter Bob's diet. Anyways, she, I think, is blaming Butter Bob's problems on the usual (cholesterol). (Not VA.) I was laughing about how the cholesterol idea is so wrong that it almost comes around to being right again, LOL. If you ask me, she has creeping VA toxicity herself, with some rosacea starting and some allergic "shiners" around her eyes. She has a family history of diabetes.
