Vitamin C and Vitamin A

Is there any research which shows a relationship between the two vitamins? Whether Vitamin A displaces Vitamin C or whether VA poisoning can cause low Vitamin C levels?

I ran a few online searches, but nothing came up, but maybe such a thing does exist but just couldn't find it ...

I'm not sure about a direct relationship between the two, but from what I remember, Dr. Smith does not advise taking vitamin C supplements. I believe he says that an excess of vitamin C will shut down the liver detox pathways, allowing more toxins to be stored in the liver (including vA). If you are working with Dr. Smith, he can probably point you to some references he has viewed in the past.

Did you read Grant's article about Scurvy? The relationship between the two is very direct. I think the rough claims are as follows: there's no Vitamin C deficiency, only Vitamin A toxicity. Vitamin C seems to be somewhat protective of the toxicity of acute Vitamin A poisoning.
