Vitamin D grew in the winter without supplementation (on low vitA)
Quote from Matrixik on February 19, 2019, 12:41 amIt's more like report but I would like to know why this happen so posting in science section. I have no idea how my blood vit D3 (25(OH)D) grow in the winter.
I did not supplement with D3, not eating anything that could contain any non trivial amount of vit D3, not using any special lamp and not going to solarium, first day in Poland when I will be able to produce vit D3 from sun will be in 9 days, body weight stable, same laboratory. I'm not really strict on the diet, on holidays and when visiting family I'm eating some vit A but probably no more that RDA.
I did first blood test on 2018-10-16, before starting low A diet (started on 2018-10-22), vitamin D3 was 28 ng/ml.
After 2 months on low A diet, 2018-12-14, 21 ng/ml.
Then last test on 2019-02-16 and vit D3 grow to 23 ng/ml.
Optimal lab ranges 30-50 ng/ml.
If, one week ago, someone told me this is possible I would laugh him off.
Does anyone have idea why this could happen?

Quote from Guest on February 19, 2019, 3:11 amMaybe it is due to less calcium you consume, or more calcium retained in the bones, so you need less Vitamin D and you have more in the blood.
This is also an interesting article about Vitamin D:
Also the other articles on this page are very interesting.

Quote from Matrixik on February 19, 2019, 3:46 amI supplement with "NOW Bone Meal Powder" because when I was looking in my food with Cronometer I was eating like 15%-20% of RDA of calcium. So I'm getting like around 100% from this powder every second day.

Quote from Guest on February 19, 2019, 6:13 amAccording to Dr. Morse vitamin D is used to buffer acidity. So if your acid load is lowering via retinoic acid then it would make sense that your vitamin D would come down. Same goes for chlolesterol, Dr. Morse says it is also used to buffer acidosis. Bella said her cholesterol has come down quite a bit since a low vit A diet.

Quote from Guest on February 19, 2019, 6:18 amMorse also says the the sun/heat causes acids to build, so that is why during the summer vit D rises to buffer those acids. Same reason it would drop during the winter, less heat/sun so less acids and less vit D. In winter you move to detox mode due to cold weather which is alkalining and thats when the acids start moving out via the skin, flu's, cold, etc.

Quote from Matrixik on February 20, 2019, 2:29 amNo, once a day in the morning. On pictures, light blue actual readings, dark blue is average and the one I'm looking at. I know that separate readings can move too much day to day, so from my point of view only averages are useful.
