"Vitamin D" - Marshall Protocol perspective

Every time I take vitamin d supplements I get a headache and pressure feeling in my head. Also my joints start to crack and pop, I'm like an old man if I take vitamin d. My gut feeling is that we were never meant to get vitamin d orally, it works differently when you get it from the sun.

Had the same when I took vitamin D3, along with pain in joints that have never hurt before and some really wild and not-great dreams. It never mattered what dose and even though I reacted, parts of my body showed clear benefit from having D3. After some research, found out supplemental D3 and D3-fortified foods often use D3 made from lanolin. I have no problems with D3 from fish and am perfectly happy with my weekly can of brisling sardines. Other than fish, there is now a vegan D3 sourced from lichen that I'd like to try.

Next time I go for allergy testing, I'll be sure lanolin is on the list.

I'm a total layman when it comes to cellular biology hehe, but i find it interesting that the VDR binds with the Retinoid X Receptor to form a heterodimer. Apparently 9-cis-retinoic acid has the highest affinity for rxr activation, I wonder how this effects the immune system when all RXR/VDR dimers are saturated/contain 9-cis-retinoic acid vs when they aren't... maybe there's an RXR agonist out there that does to RXR what olmesartan does to VDR?

Yes! I was also thinking about it a couple of days ago. It is believed that the mechanism by which accutane causes xerophthalmia is a decrease in retinaldehyde levels. I think it is logical to conclude that the activation of RXR reduces the conversion of retinol. Maybe this is feedback, which is necessary so that the body does not poison itself by overproducing of retinoic acid. Thus, it is possible that olmesatran treat by lowering retinoic acid levels.
