Wavy Gravy (Tricky Turkey) 4 Year Update
Quote from lil chick on September 5, 2024, 5:21 amWavy maybe you should be on your best behavior so that we get to keep you around! (I'm still hoping and wishing that the forum stays open!). Glad to hear your update.
You've been through a lot. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Sorry, I don't really have any suggestions about the hair loss, that's not something I've spent any time looking into. I know the carnivore diet doesn't miraculously make some men regrow their hair (look at Shawn Baker and Bart Kay), but I also haven't heard it being associated with hair loss. If I had to guess, I'd say it might have something to do with testosterone rebalancing. Seems like high testosterone is pretty well associated with baldness. It could be his testosterone is increasing to a more natural level from a carnivore diet and previously suboptimal testosterone levels had actually kept the natural progression of hair loss with age from happening until now...I know that sounds a bit backwards but it's something to consider. Animals have various ways of signaling their age, social status, and health status to others, and it could be that balding in human men evolved as an unmistakable indicator.
Well I had a similar thought about testosterone because his was VERY low previously. He was clearly very insulin resistant. But it doesn't seem like every bald man has high T.

I'm glad you found benefits on a carnivore diet and that some of the things I've written were useful to you. That seems to be a rare sentiment around these parts.

Quote from Moebius on September 5, 2024, 3:13 pmQuote from Jalee on September 5, 2024, 1:14 pm@tricky I'm glad you came back on. I know I'm not the only one. Others are just scared to say it I think. You make the science compelling, whereas some similar explanantions can be as compelling to read as watching paint drying. Grateful for you!
He makes junk science sound compelling and convincing. Thank God there is only one more day where he will be posting.
I don't care how many papers he has refereed. Science has such a big reproducibility crisis that his "qualifications" go against him, not for him.

lol You must be thinking of Tim. I'm the one who speaks "too theoretically" without sufficiently "high standards of evidence" to be believed; not enough citations they tell me. I'm the biologist...you know, the one person here who definitely wouldn't have any credible insight into published science and animal physiology...naturally.

This is a rude comment that may provoke Tricky to respond with a similar attack. Maybe it's best to ignore the things we don't like about what other forum members write and keep quiet about it. This would spare us the bitter feuds that have challenged this forum lately.

Feels like satire at this point.

Quote from Griffin on September 6, 2024, 4:24 amHey Tricky(Wavy),
I just wanted to say I have appreciated your contributions to this forum. They have provided a good counterbalance to the standard approach to low vitamin A diet. Hopefully the forum stays up a bit longer as I still have a lot to learn.
I am new to the forum and on my 7 month of low vitamin A. Unfortunately my main health issue(skin condition) has actually gotten worse during this time. There have been a few smaller health concerns that have improved so I am still hopeful this diet can help heal my skin over the long term. Digestion has been a little better, although this was already improving on my low oxalate diet prior to low vitamin A. The last six months I have mostly adhered to the high protein low fat and high fiber approach. Diet has mostly been muscle meat, white rice, beans and apples.
After reading some of your work it seems you do not feel like fiber is necessary to remove vitamin A from the body? This seems to be L Amber Ohearns(keto carnivore) opinion as well. She mentioned to me on twitter she is still hoping to put out her own article detailing vitamin A toxicity. The majority in this community(especially on Twitter/X) seem to make bold claims regarding toxic bile theory and fiber, but I'm not completely sold on this approach. It seems to work for a lot of people, but I am still trying to decide if the beans/fiber are causing me detox set backs or simple regression. I was worried that without fiber I would not clear enough vitamin A. My skin is continuing to get worse so I may have to make some changes soon.
Not sure if this forum will continue, but have enjoyed reading everyones approach and opinions on how to achieve optimal health. Im sorry you have had to deal with the in fighting with some of the members. It always surprises me how tribal people get around diet.

Were you here back when he got banned? I was being too kind and mild toward him, out of respect for Grant, that it is his forum.
