weakening magnetosphere = more radiation and cancer
Quote from romaine on November 12, 2020, 3:20 pmThere is some research pointing to the magnetosphere weakening and the loss is accelerating. Less magnetosphere causes more solar radiation to reach us and can increase cancer from what I've read. I do not pretend to be an experct and am not interested in debating whether or not this is happening but would like any suggestions on how to protect one's self is this is indeed true. I am guessing iodine is important and lowering other toxins. Just the same health advice as if it weren't weakening?

Pretty much, you will get exposed to way more ionizing radiation taking plane trips, getting xrays, and from locational variations in background radiation than any shift the magnetosphere will cause, you can buy an ionizing radiation detector and measure the levels in your house, I know the US has a problem with Radon accumulating in houses
Non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation can still degrade sensitive molecules in your body and produce toxic degradation products, all vitamin A molecules are capable of this, polyunsatured fatty acids too, some vitamins such as riboflavin, and some amino acids such as methionine and tryptophan are also particularly sensitive to photodegredation, the band of radiation responsible the most for this is the UV to Infrared spectrum, so avoiding direct sun exposure is a good idea if you feel really sick
However our body of course produces radiation on its own as infrared, which we feel as heat, this degrades vitamin A and polyunsatured fats on its own without the need for direct sunlight (I don't know for sure if this is the case for other molecules in the body), so depleting yourself of these molecules will in turn make your body more resilient to the sun and other external heat, something i've definitely noticed myself
Low frequency radiation (from cell towers/wifi routers) hasn't been proved without a doubt that they are dangerous but you can buy an emf meter and test your house/electronics for the levels they give off, they are harder to avoid because they penetrate most building materials, however sitting in front of your computer will expose you to way more of this kind than cells towers
I don't know much about iodine but Ray Peat cautions against excessive use, i've supplemented it a couple times and noticed no difference at all so I don't bother with it
