Worms

I have been researching intestinal worms and remedies for a friend and guess what, worms need VA to survive.

There are many recommendations however what stands out for me is Zeolite, which would  help detoxify the bodies VA.

Do you have the source that mentions vit A benefits worms?

We recently discovered has them and this might explain why he's intolerant of A.

There is plenty of evidence that humans need VA as well, yet here we are. I doubt worms require VA.

I agree what I wrote wasn’t clear. This is what got me thinking, although I hadn’t explored it further:

https://www.who.int/intestinal_worms/resources/faqs/en/index1.html What are the health problems caused by  soil transmitted helminths - STH? VA deficiency. Worms need vitamin A to live. In many countries, people do not eat enough vitamin A-rich foods. In these situations, the limited amount of vitamin A that is eaten is taken by the worms.

Rereading this, sounds more like blaming the worms lol.

The more I read, it gets muddled. They are trying to link VA treatment with worming treatments, because it probably is more efficient for them. The results were inconclusive, however one study said provitamin A (e.g., β-carotene) levels have increased significantly after treatment for STH.  Soil-Transmitted Helminthiasis and Vitamin A Deficiency: Two Problems, One Policy.

That is as far as I went.

This is interesting because helminth therapy is used by some alternative practitioners for autoimmune diseases. Perhaps the worms are taking in some of the vitamin A and indirectly depleting their host-thus less autoimmunity?!

Ah yes Bella that could be.

Well worms in the soil detoxify and purify the soil of contaminants. So maybe it is better to say that they process VA rather than need it.

As somebody who did parasite cleanses and candida protocols and took various other products in the past I now believe, based on my experience going low VA, that the body takes care of these problems very fast if you get rid of the toxic overload and thus increase your metabolism. Fungus, parasites, yeast... they are all present for a specific reason.

After 4 months on the no A diet, I lost an intestinal worm. But I still have a lot of retinoids around so I wonder why this happened.
