I remember reading that measles or chicken pox or both drastically deplete vA. Seems vA is the virus.

Indeed.

These discussions are always interesting but I haven't gotten to the point where I understand the catchy-ness.

Something is being passed from one person to another.

And it does appear that having once gotten the disease, you are apt not to get it again for a while.

The model of it being a germ of some type makes sense.

"OK but how come it is obvious that diseases such as colds, flus, chicken pox are contagious?"

BlackRock and The Government time traveled back to the before times with secret DoD technology and unleashed a Pandora's Box of engineered contagions upon the world and then paid scientists over the following millennia to say that they were naturally occurring "viruses".  This is clearly the most parsimonious and well-supported answer.  To think otherwise would be completely irrational.

Awe Tricky there you are, you rascal.

So we have these un-wellness states, that are catchy.    And we have been told they are not bacteria, or fungus or parasite.   They are something else.    Little tiny floating pieces of DNA.

We also have lots of people complaining that the work on these diseases is a bit shady.   We are told these things aren't really alive.   There is trouble replicating them.    There is trouble isolating them.   These buggers are hard to pin down unless they are in people doing whatever it is they do.   And yet they float through the air, or travel in body fluids, and get from person to person.  Or from bat to person LOL.

The only help seems to be natural immunity and vaccines, but vaccines stop working because the disease mutates.   Sometimes people say they are even more apt to get the new mutation of the disease when they are previously vaccinated with the old one.

Perhaps in 100 years maybe we will look back on this time and laugh.   The truest thing we know seems to be "there is no cure for the common cold".

Someone once told me that they believe that viruses are just bacterial infections that are different from the ones we already understand, and that makes some sense, I guess.   For that matter they could be parasitical or fungal or some sort of blend.   Bacterial infections often follow on to viral ones if the person does't conquer the virus quickly.  In fact, my great grandmother died of bacterial pneumonia in the 1917 flu epidemic.   You die of the follow-on infection, not the virus.   From pictures, she was a strong, healthy woman in her early 40's; people write about that happening often in that epidemic.   Isn't that so opposite from what you would think?    People talk about the effects of vax campaigns and aspirin on the happenings of that time.

I thought of a couple other things I've heard about this topic.

Someone once suggested that viruses are part of us (perhaps in our DNA?) and what moves from person to person is the trigger.

Kids that go through childhood diseases seem to end up with strong immune systems.    Are there benefits to getting some viral diseases?   Are they detoxifying the system or maybe priming the system?   And with colds etc, if they don't kill you they cure you?   Does the body sometimes catch them on purpose for the strong detox that all that mucus carries away?

Anti-virals seem to be dangerous...

Lots of money at stake.   Kary Mullis sure had lots to say about shenanigans, may he Rest In Peace.

I've seen good write-ups about how polio cases might have been poisonings from ag chemicals used at that time.

People seem to think anti-parasiticals help.   On the other hand,  general consensus is that anti-bacterials don't help.

Viruses are big business.    And now we have clerks (not nurses or doctors) injecting fluids into people in drug stores and Walmarts.    Am I the only one who worries about that?   I've even had clerks come up to me while shopping and offer me a shot!

Perhaps those in the know can comment, but I've read they've changed the way they do shots.   To make it simpler for these workers.    And less painful for the recipients.

I'm a lay person and do not know if it is true, but this is what I've read:    In the past they would draw the needle back a little to see ? blood?   And if they did draw blood they would start over?   Because they wanted the shot to go intramuscular?   and not directly into your blood stream?   But now they don't care.

And what happened to the "this has to be kept on dry ice" thing?   You heard that for a few weeks and then it disappeared.   poof

When I was in college the aids scare came out and I read the future projections and imagined a totally different world for my late adulthood.    None of it came to pass.    There have also been so many other scares about swine flus and bird flus through out my long life.   Why the drama?
