AI take on virology

"we have much to learn about virology and pathogens." That they couldn't figure out already in the last 150 years of 24/7 funding and countless Nobel prizes? Polio, AIDS alone, how many billions? For something that is allegedly sitting right in front of them and having nanometer size, a magnitude with which microbiologists and chip makers are comfortable with nowadays.

"The major problem here is that people are rejecting well-functioning scientific models like germ theory and virology and replacing them with complete trash,"
The model is pretty clear, Mr. Genereux bases much of his work on it, it's toxicity, in all its forms. Janelle chose to opt out from the injections and improve her lifestyle, a real world consequence of changing models, no major problem detected.

"In order to replace the existing model you have to offer a better model,". Personal responsibility is the here and now; the NIH won't come around any time soon. The existing model is poisoning for profits, Mr. Genereux and others are offering a better model.

"But there is no competing model I'm aware of that comes anywhere close to providing the explanatory and predictive power of the current model."
It has no predictive power, they can't even replicate contagion, its core tenet. Explanatory power is easy to come by when you can make the story up as you go along, and shut down competing voices by brute force, as in the last four and a half years.

"Or maybe that is just your immune system doing its job by attempting to flush out viral particles from your nostrils..."
If it were that easy, they would have found them by now. Isolated them, at least once. Played with them, give mice the cold by them. Found ways to instantly detect and neutralize them. There would be no holes in the wall.

@mattias2

Your "toxicity" hypothesis can't even explain the basic pattern of the spread of chicken pox symptoms among people.

Your argument is essentially: if viruses exist and cause disease, we should know more than we do about them by now; because I'm not satisfied with the scientific progress, viruses can't possibly be a valid explanation for disease.  Instead of waiting for science to flesh out the details, I'm going to accept an alternative explanation that makes far less sense (lacks explanatory and predictive power and fails a simple test of logic) and not subject that alternative explanation to the same level of criticism as the currently accepted model.

@tricky et al the bots have noticed a bit of heat over here, don't make us come in with the fire extinguishers because we like this convo.

We often get bogged down when people get angry at one another.   Lets take the last post as an example.

"it's ridiculous" how about: "this is insufficient".

"I'm going to swallow...and stop thinking" how about: "I don't see how you have convinced yourself of a better answer yet"

To all:   So much communication is lost when we go from in-person dialog to in-discussion-board dialog.   What would seem like informal banter IRL becomes a blast of angst online.   We really have to be impeccable with our words online, because half of communication is unspoken body language.   :).    (and smileys only do so much).  Some words to post by:

"1. Be impeccable with your word 2. Don't take anything personally 3. Don't make assumptions 4. Always do your best".  -Don Miguel Ruiz

You're right, you can't physically slap someone in the face with a gauntlet on a discussion board, kinda takes some of the fun out of arguments.  lol

Another anecdote on the subject of colds. I never notice a correlation with me being around sick people and getting a cold. However if during a winter I get a lukewarm-cold shower I'm pretty sure to get a cold for at least a couple of days. (I hate cold showers but I forced myself into practicing them sometimes)

Virus explanation: it weakens my immune system and a virus present in my body takes over.

Detox explanation: my lymph system gets a boost while I'm shaking and starts detoxing.

So you Caught the Cold?

It's often fun to think about words, sometimes it gives you deeper understanding or leads you places.    I felt like I learned something when I learned that carotenes are about photo synthesis (transmuting light into energy that plants can use)... and maybe that is why retinoids end up in the eye.   (transmuting light into images that the brain can use)

We catch these diseases during the cold time of year, don't we?    Is the cold involved in ...suddenly creating a bucket of mucus from the nose, feeling like crap, having a sore throat etc.

I was thinking of the word "caught" when I was reading about the twins and conjoined twins not getting the same colds.    We all think it means that you catch a cold like a baseball player catches a ball.    But the twins made me think about another meaning of "catch". Does the brain "catch" germs (or glass or whatever)  entering the body like a doberman pinscher catches someone breaking and entering?    One twin's brain "caught on" to the invasion or toxin, while the other didn't?

Now, you'd think that if one twin inhales a virus that the other twin would inhale the same virus but just because you become exposed to a germ doesn't mean you are going to get sick.    Dogs sniff and sometimes eat other dogs sh*t every day and don't get sick.    Now I'm thinking more along the idea of a burr.    The dog's system is making sure to get rid of germs before the germ "catches" in him like a burr catches to your wool sock.

When we were kids we said: "I DUEL YOU TO A DUEL".  You could try that!  🙂

I've never had a cold sore and husband gets them.   (I hope I'm not jinxing myself here).  I once told that to my doctor and she said oh yeah some people just don't get them and you probably won't.    His whole family gets them and mine doesn't.   You'd think from living closely with him and getting kisses and hugs from his family I'd have caught it by now, during some sort of lull in my immune system or something.   It's obviously some sort of genetic thing.   It must be very frustrating to those who study viruses when things like this happen.   I do sometimes get impetigo (bacterial) which can look similar.

It reminds me of the blogger who was a twin and how he and his brother lived in the same bedroom and yet didn't catch each other's colds.

I also have never had covid and wasn't vaxed and only masked when forced.   (again, hoping not to jinx myself) However, my parents and children who are all vaxed have had covid many times.    It's true I'm a home body and that probably helped, but Covid was in my house 3 times.   I've been sick once since the covid debacle and that was in summer time with a horrible swimmer's ear that brought me very low indeed...  That was bacterial.   It is interesting that ears are my problems (vertigo, tinnitus etc) and that is where the baddies attacked me.   IS it cleanup in aisle three?
