@moderator

Please explain how these posts are clogging up the forum?  What makes these posts any more or less important than anyone else's posts?

Oh, thanks for the reminder to move your post here.  Hopefully you can start posting them here and save me the trouble!   (as it is your habit to post anecdotes of other people in first-person voice its unclear if you are the runner or not)

To answer your question why, here is a quote from my post above "I think it makes sense that these (albeit interesting) anecdotes should be collected together because they aren't like member reports where you can go into a discussion with the person and ask questions and get answers."

Your anecdotes always end in "Hurrah for Practitioner X"  and seem very much like commercials to many here which irks people because that disregards the rules of the forum.

This site can be thought about as a library of information, with each topic a section of that library.    I'd like it to be easier for people to find information by having people participate in  general topics like the ones started this week of "pregnancy" or "oil pulling".

Each person who starts a log is ideally an interesting case study that keeps getting added to.   And not a one-off.

I suppose that if someone (or you) started a general topic such as "Regaining Fitness" a pointer to your new anecdote would be welcome.   Generally one-off, impersonal anecdotes are not in themselves generating a "section" of this low-VA library.    I do remember some of your anecdotes generating discussion, and for those we are thankful.   However, posting them under Generalized titles would be better so that info about the topic is collected in one place.

Ran the annual Garfield Gobble today. Our neighbor's have a mile run family party every Turkey day morning. Last year their youngest blew me out by minutes at 5 years old. I was so far behind I never saw him finish. This year he is 6 going on 23 and I got to see him finish. He still gets a kick out of outrunning an adult. He turned around to see me catching up 3 times in the first 3 quarter miles. Poured it on with Dad's coaching the last quarter.

Goal: I want to race that young man and finish 10 seconds behind him for at least the next 20 years. Never beat him. Just make him hear those steps coming.

It is not beyond the possible. Tsökahovi "Lewis" Tewanima took silver in 1912 Olympics in the 10k. He was considered a POW at an Indian school in Carlyle Pennsylvania at the time. When he went home to his Hopi family in Arizona, they took the 24 year old boy for a run. Been years since I read his book. They took him for a 50 or a 100 mile run. All his 50 something uncles and his father crushed him. It was no surprise to him. He was embarrassed for the rest of the world thinking they had real runners when he knew better.

And yeh, I had a 7 month old pup pulling me with all he could most of the way. I am fine with that. Wait till he adds 20 more pounds. Bet we can shave another 2 minutes off our time.

Life is moving. Life is good.

Thank you all. Everyone.
