Cant take deep breaths

PreviousPage 2 of 4Next

Also, forgot to mention, could be a type of pseudo-angina caused by vitamin B1 deficiency

You guys ever tried Buteyko breathing or training yourself to do strict nasal breathing during exercise? This fixed a lot of breathing issues I had like inability to take deep satisfying breaths and chronically blocked nose, way before I did any dietary experiments.

Edit, saw Buteyko mentioned here, but I would really recommend doing strict nasal breathing during aerobic exercise rather than Buteyko breathing exercises, found it really effective for improving my breathing. Patrick McKeown and John Douillard have good information about this.

@collden, yep strict nose-breathing is working very well for athletes too, equal to high altitude training. http://www.buteykotoronto.com/buteyko-and-fitness

I am experiencing what thomas experienced plus fatigue. Pollen issues? tars angina suggestion sounds scary... @thomas did these issues resolve for you?

@tim-2 They come and go. I could say there's something specific that causes it but I honestly have no idea. It may be anxiety that i'm not aware of, or something else

@thomas Thanks Thomas. Do you feel fatigued when it is occuring? I've identified that my diet has been quite low in calcium and folate, have you tried increasing intake of any nutrients? Do you think it is related to VA release?

Just seen on the "no more burning skin" thread:  "My reactions to sulfites include itching, hives, headache, insomnia, restless leg, and worst of all, difficulty breathing/asthma."

Long ago I read up on sulfite allergies.  There was a guy.... Gosh he had traced down all the sulfites in his diet and they were places you wouldn't even expect.  Like anything caramel colored?

here's a cut and paste from the google machine:

"Sulfites are common in processed foods, condiments, and alcoholic beverages, such as red and white wine. Sulfites occur naturally in wine during fermentation, and many winemakers add them to help the process along.

For the past two decades, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has required winemakers to display the warning “contains sulfites” if levels exceed a certain threshold. Many companies voluntarily add the label to their products as well.

If you have sensitivities, you should avoid food products with the following chemicals on the label:

  • sulfur dioxide
  • potassium bisulfate
  • potassium metabisulfite
  • sodium bisulfite
  • sodium metabisulfite
  • sodium sulfite"

That list of reactions (to sulfites) seems so closely related to VA detox reactions, that I wouldn't be surprised if sulfites are intricately involved in the VA thingy.   Somehow.

Because sulfites deplete thiamine if one is thiamine deficient then some claim that sulfite sensitivity is likely.

Sorry just seeing this, I haven't payed much attention to how I feel during those moments. All I know is my heart-rate is slightly higher than usual and I have insomnia. Probably dumping VA
