Quote from Joe2 on September 3, 2025, 10:23 pmI took a lot of antibiotics years ago. Took me more almost a decade to recover just from the antibiotics. They are no joke I cut and pasted some of your previous notes here for context. It looks like you took quite a bit and for awhile. Minocycline?
Also you took antifungals? And antiparasitics? Azoles?
Pharma drugs like these can and have caused symptoms like that.
Am also curious what is the basis for thinking that a vA deficiency could cause a psychosis or schizophrenia. Is there something we missed in the literature on these topics?
Same question applies to a deficiency in PolyUnsaturatedFattyAcids? Considering how little PUFA's were available in the last 30 or 40 generations of diets, what would make you suspect PUFA deficiency for mental illnesses?

I managed to get to the doctor quickly. She said it didn't look like candida and it was more like giardia. But she prescribed antifungal medications too, just in case. Now I'm starting to guess where these quick effects come from... Probably, they have already sucked up all the VA and now I just have to not eat it. @lil-chick was right)It's funny to start a low-VA diet with an already depleted VA. However, I have yet to find out what the Herxheimer reaction is.
BTW, I am now beginning to guess one of the reasons why they promote carotenoids.

However, she prescribed me 2 antifungal prepparates(including Fluconazole). So, she's not sure of her conclusions. With giardiasis, there would be eosinophilia. Aparently, Candida. And this is bad news, with Candida is going to have a long fight. And a long VA detox.#43 · October 18, 2021, 2:13 pmQuoteClick to report post.

Are there antibiotics in the milk?Milk is like one huge antibiotic to protect newborn with undeveloped immune system from all sorts of pathogens, even some milk proteins are strong anti bacterials.
My appetite has noticeably decreased on this diet, but I still fall into hypoglycemia. My BMI is stable and =22.
Hypoglycemia happens when your liver is too slow to satisfy the [increased] demands for blood glucose, but at the same time you still have enough of it(in reserves) or else you'd get mild hyperglycemia aka so called "diabetes type 2" (more common and worser case, since additionally stress hormones become more elevated).
BTW, some biofilms with urine are constantly coming out of me on this diet. I had the same thing when I took iodine.
Your case seems to be fairy complex - maybe you should research some antibiotics, since unfortunately there is always sort of a constant race between pathogens and immune system for glucose and sometimes the later becomes starved from it even on adequate intake - in this case abxs could help.
Also if your BMI is stable you could be in starvation state - it's much less risky to get a couple of kilos from extra calories than to constantly starve yourself, since you are starving your immune system too as well as part of it devoted to overcoming chronic sickness conditions.
What are the antibiotics that are safe for candidiasis?
For some reason it seems to me that these pathogens have accumulated in me before, and now they are dying. I can hardly believe that such a large bacterial mass can multiply so quickly, although who knows. The tests show nothing.
Tests show nothing because all chronic infections are intracellular thus generating little to no antibodies.
Minocycline could be the safest one to increase immune resistance against candida, as an inhibitor too(small bonus):
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC478100/
But the dose ideally should be really small like at most 25mg every 2..4 days otherwise you will greatly suppress your immune system and end result will be further candida grow..
I'd drop all dairy at least temporary as a test since for example extra lactoferrin from it could suppress too much besides so called "human lactoferrin" is already generated by WBCs in required quantities. Also lauric acid is another suspect that could be doing more harm than good.
For some reason it seems to me that these pathogens have accumulated in me before, and now they are dying.
This is also possible.
Not eating dairy is not a problem, but isn't lactoferrin destroyed by homogenization?
I'll try monocycline sometime and report the results.
Btw, do you think bad intestinal motility could be related to this?

@rockarolla Is there a difference at what time of day to take minocycline?

Today during lunch I took the first dose (25 mg) of minocycline. There was no immunopathology or anything like that. Moreover, it seems that I got better. But it didn't last long and could be a coincidence.

I was really shivering this afternoon, my stomach was rumbling. And in the evening, as it turned out, a whole clod of candida and some worms came out. There are fewer black dots on the nose. All day long, were these muscle twitches. I forgot to take an antibiotic. 2 teeth hurt.

In general, it's definitely an infection. And I think I picked it up from meat. I don't know how long I've had this. I'm not sure if it was due to taking albendazole, but today I had wounds under the calf muscle of my left leg and a worm got out (it looks like it got out, or maybe it materialized). A black coating appeared on the meat that I cooked today, and I have the same, barely noticeable, on my foot. Whatever it is, it won't die when cooked under pressure for an hour! And it is transmitted through the skin.I am having some kind of horror movie.

Quote from Даниил on September 4, 2025, 1:56 amAs for medical literature, I suggest reading the study I linked below. This is about vitamin A. As for PUFA, it's no secret that low levels of omega-3 are observed in individuals with schizophrenia. Of course, Ray Peat's theory of excessive oxidation (oxidative stress) may be valid. I not rule out the possibility that my issues were caused by other factors. However, I have not ruled out the possibility of a deficiency in either vitamin A or PUFA as a contributing factor.
Yes, I've taken low doses of antibiotics in the past, and that was probably the last time I took them. And this is actually one of those actions that I've done in the past that I now consider irrational. I've even taken anti-parasitic medications recently, and I know they're harmful, but I believe the benefits may outweigh the risks if there are actual parasites present, so I've taken them.
As for the low PUFA diets in the past, yes, there was a point, but I think I was even lower in PUFA because I was consciously avoiding it in the past, while those people were doing it unconsciously. So, I was taking a risk.
By the way, on Ray Peat's forum, I saw a claim that the amount of PUFA even in butter is sufficient to prevent deficiency (and you need a completely fat-free diet to deplete PUFA), but I haven't found any evidence to support this (the neural network disagrees). I'll ask again here, is there any evidence to support this claim?
As for the advice to eat a lot, it obviously contradicts official medicine (autophagy).

Quote from lil chick on September 4, 2025, 6:39 amHi Danil I'm glad to hear you are doing better. I hope you are sleeping good. It's so good for the brain.
I think it's great that you are having good results from PRAYER and I've been on a new roll about encouraging things that give feel-good hormones, and prayer is one of those things! Feel-good hormones are medicine you make inside your body for your own brain!
We've heard some things here on this site about brain and nervous problems; such as tinitus which is quite hard to get rid of, trouble with walking, nerves getting dull (like in my feet), or reacting wrong (raynauds), anger issues or very bad PMS, depression. I do think vitamin A overload (1. going in, 2.in storage, and 3.coming out) can and does affect the brain and nervous system. Perhaps that is why you had a bad result from going very low. (VA coming out?)
I'm glad you are at least staying under the RDA. That sounds like a good moderate approach, especially if you worry that you might need a more varied diet than the prison-food diet. Maybe, in a way, it keeps you from struggling too much with VA coming out too fast?
Sometimes when people react really strangely to antibiotics and the other anti's... it is because they ARE infected... As a gardener I've been bitten by ticks many times a year for over fifty years. I'm sure I've been exposed to tons of parasites and bacteria.
And those little friends can affect our brains too.
I currently am not hoping to have to take any "anti's" soon because they seem to throw me out of whack just like Joe has said. I sometimes think "being inhabited" on the earth is the fate of all animals here, so I guess I hope to just muddle through... I'm not adverse to taking them when things go acute... Sometimes you need to get "over a hump".

Quote from Joe2 on September 4, 2025, 10:11 amNot sure but I think eating beef and chicken for the last 3 years while eating no other source of fat has given me all the fats I need. I have read studies about depression and suicide in Nordic studies on zero fat diets. I do agree that zero fat diets are insane and cause worse physical and psychic symptoms. All experience and reading indicate that to go zero fat is nigh impossible when eating meat - at least meat that is not aberrantly processed to remove all fat. I have known a few really unhappy and unhealthy body builders who did that with boiled and rinsed chicken breasts. Never knew of anyone able to do this for long though.
So I equate PUFA deficiency with veganism. I thought you had access to good meat throughout these last 10 years.

Quote from Даниил on September 4, 2025, 10:53 amSpecifically, there are few omega-3 fats in chicken and beef. I have almost never been a vegan. On a Peating diet, I have consumed a lot of fat milk. On a low-VA diet, I have eaten chicken breasts and egg whites, as well as the oils I have listed. Before my second psychosis, I also consumed fat dairy products and eggs. Nowadays, I sometimes consume cod liver and can add sunflower oil to my meals, as well as I eat fat dairy products and eggs.

Quote from Joe2 on September 4, 2025, 11:12 amMy symptoms are mostly going almost gone. I am still too skinny. I am one of those surprising folk who stay skinny regardless of just about everything. Strong for my size. Able to eat insane quantities. And on. Sooner or later, I will learn the key to gaining weight. Meanwhile will settle for getting stronger, faster, longer.
I still get more cramps than I want. Guess it is expected while rebuilding. Slowly gaining better range of motion and strength. I still have a few numb / tingling / painful nerves in feet. Staying away from B6 sources is fading these fast.
If it helps:
Perhaps the science on Omega-3 fats is not as accurate as conventional experts would have us believe. Perhaps Udo Erasmus is wrong? Maybe vitamin A is a toxin? Hope you learn the easiest way possible that cod liver is a mistake. Take care.
