Depression/anxiety experiences?

Page 1 of 3Next

If anyone has or plans to use vitamin A depletion to treat anxiety, depression, or other mood issues, I would be very excited to discuss your results. I am trying to help someone dear to me deal with these debilitating issues. neschuler@hotmail.com

I just started the protocol myself, and will update you as to my results as they unfold! I am hoping it can help address 20 years of intense cravings and yoyo weight gain & loss.

I have severe anxiety and am hoping ridding myself of vitamin A helps this and many other conditions.

As a note, years back I inadvertently lowered my vitamin A (knowing what I know now) by going dairy, gluten, and nightshade free and for several years my anxiety went away (and I was finally able to get pregnant, funny now how it 's all really related!) Anyway, even though I felt better I still had lingering symptoms (maybe my cod liver oioil/liver stints I'd go on?) and a hidden injury that caused severe pain, so I continued to cut more and more out, essentially starving.  Once the injury was discovered and fixed, I was like f this diet and went on the RRAF diet suggested my Matt Stone, but 18 months later even though initially I felt better eating again, I am right back to all.the issues I had and why I had cut all the foods out!  And then I've come across all the books by Grant and it all makes sense, I hope!

Anyway, lots of words to say I hope it helps with my anxiety too 🙂

It does really seem to help with my anxiety. I seriously thought I had an eating disorder at one point and started following Matt Stone in 2012. Now that I've been off VA for several months I think it was all just poor appetite and food intolerance from VA all along. I did experience a period like an existential crisis as I started feeling well for the first time in forever but that passed and now I just pretty much feel like I think a healthy human should! Good luck.

Plus I now eat about 500-750 more calories a day on average and my weight hasn't changed. I just eat when I'm hungry and go on with my life. Everything is better getting rid of this toxin!

How is it so far?

I have been doing a lower A diet for about a month and have positive results.

My mild depression has lifted despite winter and my work does not feel meaningless anymore.

I also feel more productive because I worry less about perfection and not making mistakes.

That’s great! I’m so happy for you.

I feel like this is the first winter in memory that I haven’t struggled with the blues.

My depression symptoms have been getting better, but not entirely gone. The symptoms have less of an edge to them. Just an occasional mild sense of sadness as opposed to an existential crisis.

Any dramatic change in your diet can affect your mood in the short term. It's normal for you to feel low or angry when changing diet, the nutrients you take in play a vital role in your hormone production, any change to this will be noticed.
