Dry eyes question /- much worse at night??

To those who have dry eyes safely from vitamin A / Accutane. Do you have these dry eyes 24/7 / during the day or are they also much worse at night when the eyes are closed?

Been there done that with the red dry feeling eyes day and night years ago. And even in recent times.  But always a pain lingering in the eyes.   I do have that history of Accutane and my troubles began after that and a slow progression to oblivion of the eyes.  But the day time problem went away or reduced to manageability because of well I am not sure but it might be a number of things. Besides praying,  I quit all commercial eye drops.  All of them.  Cold turkey. It was because it got to the point where it felt like I was dropping acid in my eyes!  I ended up getting corneal ulcers too.  But it really improved  when I used only saline solution which I made and filtered it.  That helped.  But my problems still  ended up at night.  All the above happened before Grant and before I knew about Vitamin A as a poison.  A long time coming to see a solution to the problem.

The issue at night has been progressing more and more to the bad but  I now see the connection to my history of Accutane and Vitamin A and I see the possibility of healing.  In fact this morning I didn't feel like my eyeballs were like rocks surrounded by acid. I am serious about that feeling.  Been on the diet for a week and 2 weeks without mega Vitamin supplements with the Vitamin A.

I hope this helps a little.

@sussan I am happy that your eyes feel better! I have been on this diet for 15 months and I used to have terrible pains in the eyes, especially the left one. The same acid feeling that you describe. It was unbearable and left me nearly blind in the end. I am so relieved I have found this group and Grant's books.

I have not had that feeling for over a year, but times of very blurry vision still come and go. If you are interested you can read my experiences (+ husband's experiences since we both do the diet) in my log. I have described them month by month. Maybe it can give you an idea of how things have turned out to be for two people.

I would help if you too had a log and reported regularly on what happens to you. I keep a post-it where I jot down any relevant news and write about them more in detail every month. I found that I tend to forget exactly what happened and when. This helps other people but also helps me figure this out later. Also it helps in times of despair, of which I have had my share in this vA detox.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I read your log and what a journey you are on!  It is inspiring and helpful.
