I think there is more to it regarding stool colour.  I'm not doubting that excreting toxins can influence the colour but I think what you eat can too. 
My dog was raw fed and her stool changed colour depending on what protein she was eating.  She was a tiny thing so she would have the same protein for 3 days or so before we opened the next package of food.  Chicken gave a distinctly diferent colour poo to beef for example.  The only thing that was changing was the protein.   Also, for dogs, bone content has an affect on stool colour - it gives a paler stool.  It can go almost white after a day or so. 

All that said, if your stool is changing colour and your diet remains consistent then something else must be going on. 

We fed "toxic cat" some fatty prime rib over the holidays and he came out with two poops in a row, one normal-colored, followed by a pale one.  He also appeared "off his game" at the time when he produced the pale one.   In fact, now and then when he has had too much fat I even wonder if he's going to make it.  It goofs up his elderly system.

It is my opinion, and of course, just a theory, that we want our poops (for wellness) to NOT be "steatorrhea" as mentioned below.   I think they are a sign that fats are coming through that aren't being processed properly.   That can't be a good thing.

I can see that also my bowels didn't really like the higher amounts of fats I ate over the holiday.

I am coming around to the idea that bile insufficiency might be a common part of VA toxicity.    Perhaps the biliary systems are just not happy, like many of our other organs are not.

How this relates to the olive-oil cleanses has me a bit confused, as people tend to see them as beneficial.  (shrugs)

I will divert from poo for a moment. Lately, I noticed large, orange sweat spots on my white t-shirt armpit area; and I mean orange like a carrot! I had never had anything like it, so I can assume that this is carotenoids damping. Also for a long while I experienced excessive sweating which now thankfully abated.

So interesting, Beata.  Were you extra smelly?  I find that if I go a long time without sweating (for instance, in winter) I will stink to high heaven (those first few sweaty gardening days).    Perhaps you haven't sweat for a while and some carotenes built up, waiting for exit? 

Speaking of smellyness, this week hubs was off-gassing.  And a few weeks ago, it was me.  During times of offiice-work stress.  So, not an all-out physical sweaty situation, but still perhaps some nervous perspiration going on.

In general, I feel that I'm stinkier now than in general.  I can't stand going more than a day without a shower.  However, maybe my nose is just working better.

@lil-chick, yes during the sweaty days a daily shower was absolutely necessary and even extra armpits wash during the day came in handy. I also noticed my feet were sweating - something I never had before. 
I can attest that vitamin A detox is a real thing. 

I am the originator of this thread and thought I'd update the status of the color of my poo which I'm sure you were all wondering.   I haven't noticed orange poo for quite sometime!  Don't know when it stopped since my attention has been elsewhere but it has been awhile.  In general I'm feeling better - if I can get 7 plus hours of sleep, I feel pretty good and am not in pain.  I would say that more than half to three quarters of the nights I get enough sleep which is much better than before.   As for food, I have a bit of dairy (daily .25 cups of whole milk and about .5 cup of nonfat yogurt with no added A).   I rarely eat cheese.   I do eat some orangy foods - oranges and orange juice and tomatoes on occasion.   Beans are my thang as is grassfed beef and oats.   I gave up white rice awhile ago because I didn't see the point of it other than mostly calories and just saw that Smith is not a fan of rice of any kind anymore.    I think mercury has been a big problem for me - I seem to still have candida problems which I've heard love mercury (I had loads of mercury fillings as a child).   I can not tollerate anything with yeast that includes chips that have flavorings that often include torula yeast, gluten free breads, pretzels, etc..   Mushrooms don't seem good either.   When I consume fungus I get headaches and can't sleep well.  Though I do seem to tollerate wine if I don't overdue it which seems odd - I thought it had yeast.    I'm not taking any supps except for topical magnesium and iodine ticture.

We used to make wine and a winemaker who wants a pretty product goes through several iterations of clarification.   We would decant off the top of the barrel several times.  The bottom sediment is called the lees and there you would have the dead yeasts and the pulps and even seeds if you were starting from grapes.   Additives are sometimes used to clarify wine and filters too.  I'm thinking that in order to make a beautiful product much of the yeast is cleared away. 

Bottles are shaped so that any sediments that fall out, once the cork is in for good, can be left in the bottle when you carefully pour out that last glass.

I've flip-flopped on wine, but something in me wants it to remain in the diet.  In the past I would have preferred beer or champagne but now for some reason I want red wine.  I like to drink it early so it doesn't interfere with sleep.  Like 4-5 o'clock.

On the original subject, I am now taking B12 and B complex pretty regularly and feel that my BM's have become more toxic and my urine has become less.
