Eggs as part of Vitamin A reduction
Quote from Armin on November 5, 2022, 3:24 pmQuote from Jessica2 on November 5, 2022, 3:17 pm@liz I saw that post and thought what extreme bad taste to comment that. The article the woman wrote did not even seem that bad, I only skimmed it, but she was just chronicling her nutrition issues from high vitamin A to detox to a more relaxed diet that included more things. I didn't read the end though. Now, I myself might call someone who believes drinking a bleach-like substance helps detox and who believes "space weather" affects bile secretion to be a bit mentally unstable, but that's just me.
His post about men releasing their seed causing bile dumps got a curious reaction from me.

Quote from Liz on November 5, 2022, 3:28 pmI actually read all of it and I agree. That woman did not stand out as mentally unstable at all from her blog posts. She started feeling better dropping Smiths advice and listening to her body and cravings. Living with food restrictions can be very stressful leading to undereating and/or nutritional imbalance (I think many of us have personal experience from either of those). Just as with recovery from restriction, she regained her health, if it was from eating more, or getting missing nutrients, reduced stress or all three, I think she did the right thing. I think a big part of getting healthy/healing is not focusing on the food, analyzing every little symptom every day, but taking as much stress off as possible, focusing on living instead of feeling shitty in a food prison. And that is exactly what she did.

I saw it but didn't bother reading it. He has posted some weird shit so I catagorised it as weird shit without reading, but I do not have sperm so I do not have any knowledge on it what so ever. Should I go read it? 😅

Garrett didn't give any evidence for releasing ones' seed to cause bile dumps but said that many people have reported it via anecdotes.
I also dislike his "poison begets poison" mantra that really isn't very clever. People like to drink alcohol and then smoke, eat junk food, etc because dopamine is great and stacking dopamine feels even better. People also like to have sex when drunk. Is sex therefore "poison" to him? Just lazy reasoning IMO.
Another is his idea that sulfur is inherently bad because sulfur is associated with hell.

I had started drawing a tentative connection between ejaculation and my symptoms that I associate with Vitamin A elimination a long time ago. Sperm is supposed to contain Vitamin A, which led me to think that it was possible that ejaculating led to a depletion of Vitamin A, which then signaled to the body to take more Vitamin A out of peripheral storage because there was some capacity freed up to deal with it. I kept wanting to make a joke about ejaculating your way back to health, but never got around to it. Interesting to hear that Smith said something that actually seems to agree with my thoughts.
Most of my worst symptoms happen during the night when I'm trying to sleep. I don't think bile is being released at that time, but I do think the body is in repair mode while you're sleeping and that it is likely bringing Vitamin A out of peripheral storage if there is additional capacity for the body to deal with it after having released bile earlier in the day with food intake.
@jessica2
There's a publication I've looked at numerous times that shows gallbladder emptying (as a proxy for bile release) after ingestion of several different formulas. Fat caused the greatest release, but anything from protein to coffee/tea also leads to bile release. I've come to think that pretty much anything consumed leads to bile release, except maybe water with nothing but minerals in it.
Funny to see someone else finally comment on Smith's Space Weather (TM)! lol I always got a good laugh from that and the gullible people on his site asking all the time, "I felt like crap yesterday, was there some space weather?!"

I'm pretty sure bile is only released from the gallbladder in response to ingesting food/drink. I think hunger and stomach growling are unrelated, although they might stimulate the liver and pancreas to prepare for food intake, but that alone shouldn't cause bile to be released into the intestines.
I'm no longer on Smith's site (finally booted about a month ago for repeatedly opposing his idiocy), but in the 2 years I was on there it seemed like he blamed absolutely everything on bile and cholestasis with essentially zero evidence to back it up. Bile is very important for getting waste and toxins out of the body, but Smith has not portrayed the science behind those processes at all accurately (the same goes for just about anything else he says). He does not seem to understand basics, like the fact that bile acids are just a component of bile and are not part of the detoxification system, so when they get reabsorbed that is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Finally, someone that sees what I'm seeing!
The only research on humans I've seen that shows reabsorption of toxins in the intestines was looking at reabsorption of pharmaceuticals, which I don't think is applicable to people on a proper diet who are not taking pharmaceuticals.
I've also reasoned that, because fiber slows movement of food through the small intestines and feeds bacteria, it increases the chance of bacterial overgrowth and the potential for deconjugation of glucuronidated toxins/waste. If you're eating whole plant foods, then your intestines are also getting compromised by defensive compounds like lectins in the plants, exposing you to leaky gut problems that also increase the chances of absorbing toxins. More reason not to use plants as an unnecessary means of binding things.

Quote from Liz on November 5, 2022, 11:17 pmQuote from Jessica2 on November 5, 2022, 3:41 pm@armin Once, I was genuinely looking into what causes bile release, and couldn't find any evidence of what anyone on the network was talking about, the only thing I could find that caused a bile release was fat. The more fat you ate, the more bile was released. So I asked about it, and was answered with a very snide, rude accusation that I had missed a lot of info and anecdotes (yes really) from members about what caused their bile "dumps". Most people on the network don't even know what causes them, yet they are >sure< symptom X means they are releasing bile, lol. Some claim it happens while sleeping for no reason whatsoever.
My theory is that bile is released because of internal and external hunger cues, so exercising or being in the sun would raise metabolism, therefore a bile release, which is a signal by the body to eat. I have since found studies backing up exercise causing bile release. Sometimes just thinking of food may do it too. Other than that, the bile-dumping-for-whatever-and-no-reason at all theories I call bullshit on as well. If sexual release causes bile dumping I believe its because of the "aerobic" activity involved lol. It makes no sense for the body to just be squirting out bile for no reason at all, its a very highly conserved substance.
If you find interesting studies, feel free to share them in the science section 😊

I do enjoy this discussion going here. How about starting a bile thread in the science section?
