Very encouraging hearing your success. If saw results like you did I would be on this diet for life. Can't see myself going to daily eggs, fish and greens knowing that they harm more than help
I guess it depends on which herbs but apparently one of them in the blend I was drinking is high in carotene and I didn't even realize until I started having some issues.
I can't imagine eating A containing foods as a staple in my diet ever again! It would be nice to be able to tolerate a bit more here and there occasionally though like at family functions.

Also there is varying amounts of folate in pretty much all food, so it adds up. Also freezing food destroys folate over time.
Its probably worth tracking your nutrient intake on cronometer for awhile to get an idea of if there are any potential deficiencies but keep in mind that nutrient content in food varies significantly based on a lot of different factors.
In regards to herbal tea, Peppermint & Spearmint are high in carotenoids but there is pretty limited data for other herbs. I would think that if you make it weak and drink it in moderation it wouldn't be a big deal as carotenoids have pretty low solubility in water (?) but you could also be sensitive to other constituents (for example Menthol)

Thanks Zach, sorry I missed this post somehow. I actually do use cronometer daily although I should probably review it closer! I do try to include beans several times per week.
I actually started working with Harry (elementalhtma.co.uk) recently and it's been super helpful. I'm tired of guessing and doing everything on my own so it's nice to have someone to collaborate with on my specific situation. I think the HTMA and blood work will provide some good information. I'll share my results here when I get them back.

Quote from Guest on January 2, 2019, 9:18 pmSo I am at around 100 days into a very low A diet. Things have been very slow for me. I have had health problems since I can remember and I am now in my 50s so I didn't really expect anything to fix me as quick as others, and I doubt anyone knows why I had problems at an early age since it was before food was fortified that much and before glyphosate. My family ate a regular diet for the time.
My main problems have been insomnia and fatigue. If I get 7 to 8 hours of sleep in a row then I feel ok (not real energetic thoughm just that I don't feel pain or sick) for the day though I seldom get that much sleep. I often only sleep 4 to 5 hours before waking (as in can't go back to sleep) and then even if I take a nap I feel extremely tired and this hasn't improved.
What has improved slightly: Just today I observed much less hair loss in the tub/shower catch (hopefully this isn't just a one-off). Hair loss has been extremely hard for me to deal with even though it is considered just superficial. Hair on a woman at least represents health and wellness and that factors into how people treat you so I kind of resent it when people say it is *just* hair, etc.... Another slight improvement is a bit of loss of belly fat. Belly fat seens to be another thing that some think of just something superficial to be worried about, but it means so much more. Also an improvement I have not heard anything about is fuller lips- after a month of extremely dry and peeling lips they now seem fuller. Maybe because of more circulation? Lastly, my feet don't seem to be so achy which is actually a huge thing on days I need to be on my feet alot.
Other things I hope to improve but haven't seen a change: eyesight/bluriness, brain fog, weird tiny skin crust above eyebrow, skin crepiness. I haven't been to the dentist since starting the diet but I REALLY hope my teeth and gums improve so I don't have to hear about how I need to brush and floss better. They don't get that teeth and gum health is dependent on much more deep things and no matter on how much some people brush and floss their teeth, their teeth will be crappy because disease is systemic.
Other problems I have had are depression and anxiety. At this point those are hard to figure out for me as far as the cause. I am certain they started because of illness in my body (which I count the mind as part of the body) but they can be made worse because of experience which is partly made from health. For example, I didn't feel happy or well because I was sick with vA or other toxins so didn't make many friends and now feel sad about not having many friends - it's circular. I am sad about all the decades that I have been sick and not able to make the most of life. I have written on other threads about supplements. Many shoot them down but I think that if you are deficient in a nutrient then they can help. I really want to make up for the time I have lost and so really want to speed up my recovery and supplements might help if one can figure out which ones they are low in (i've done the hair analysis and blood test stuff)
I will update my progress in another 100 days.

Hi, it’s Bella here. I can relate and could have written a lot of your post myself. Ironically I was just going to post about the improvements I’ve noticed in my skin and hair at about the 6 month mark! 6 weeks ago my hair stylist noticed my hair had improved a lot but it wasn’t very noticeable to me at that point. Now it is quite noticeable. I can only explain this in a way that possibly some people won’t understand unless they have experienced it for themselves but here goes.
A couple years ago my hair started growing in coarse and wirey-sort of like pictures of Albert Einstein (no disrespect to him)! It was just strange because I always had smooth silky hair that literally looked fine even when I had just rolled out of bed! My hair has now mostly returned to smooth, silky and looks nice when I just wake up despite not doing anything different beyond the A elimination diet. It’s hard even for me to believe because it’s obviously the same head of hair with only 6 months of new growth and my hair is fairly long. The grays have changed tone as well. They are not restored to brown but do look more blonde instead of full on obviously silver. I do not necessarily mind gray I just find the change in color surprising and interesting.
As far as skin I’ve noticed a lipoma I’ve had for years is smaller and brown spots are lighter. My nails are stronger and growing faster but there was a spell where they were peeling and that might have been detox-I really don’t know.
The hirsutism continues to improve and although it was probably always mild in comparison to what some people deal with I found it particularly disturbing. Everyone has certain issues that technically aren’t supposed to be anything more than cosmetic but it bothers them nonetheless and mine was unwarranted facial hair! I’m so glad it’s nearly gone.
My menopause symptoms continue to gradually improve as well and it seems like the changes I’ve made since working with Harry are complimentary to the low A diet. For the first time in a while I’m starting to having some real quality of life! I’m looking forward to continued improvements.

The hair texture changing is one of the first noticeable improvements for me. When I used to drink milk and eat cheese, I'd always notice my hair get more coarse and unmanageable. Hair is one of the first things to change in poor health for me.
