How do your detox symptoms occur?

My naturopath used to talk about how the body will try very hard to keep "stasis". Once stasis has been lost, you can be pretty sure that the fixes aren't going to be very easy. Another way of putting this, and it was a sign in his office: "easier to stay healthy than it is to get healthy".
