how to moisturize the skin?

PreviousPage 8 of 8

In the olden days, when it was picture day, they used to tell us NOT to wash our hair that day.   Back in those times, most kids/teens air-dried and hair care was pretty simple.  Some people did feel more frustrated with their hair when it was on its first day.   ("I just washed my hair and I can't do a THING with it" was a saying).  It was shinier and not as frizzy on subsequent days.    I suppose that is all conditioner does, give you "day 2" hair by dirtying your clean hair up a bit.     The 1960-70's was all about hair though, there was great hair back then.

Thanks!    My problem has been thinning in the front and I feel for everyone that wants better hair!

Ah the big hair days of youth!

Do other people in your family have thinning?    If you ask me, it seems to be inherited how you will react to VA overload.   My parent's thinning is similar.

It is hard, I remember writing here almost the same exact thing.    Now that I look back on it, I'm not really sure what I meant, but I do remember feeling it.    I think the reason I stuck by it is because finally things were CHANGING.

In my mind, almost everyone by my age is starting to feel overloaded in VA.

However, another part of my brain realizes that VA is part of life on earth.   But then again, so are other nutrients that can get overloaded such as iron, copper, and now we are hearing about B6?

One of the hardest parts is just getting past the idea that VA could be bad.   We sure do have a mental block as a society with that one.    We have much less trouble with, for instance, iron overload.

I also fear hair loss. Especially if you're a woman (who also used to have great hair in her youth, welcome to the club), it's scary. I'd like to offer some thoughts, maybe they'll be helpful:

  • Ourania has used a laser helmet, both she and her husband have reported hair regrowth using a LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) helmet. They used this particular product that I might order: https://www.nooance-paris.com/en-uk/products/professional-led-hair-helmet. You can read about their experience in her log: https://ggenereux.blog/discussion/topic/ouranias-log/?part=14
  • I'm not sure if you're doing the super low vitamin A approach a la Grant, but if you are, most have reported worsening hair loss. I have come to believe that for most people it raises retinoic acid too much and may even overwhelm the detoxification pathways. After years of not making much progress on a diet similar to Gran's and losing so much hair on it, I deviated slightly and started incorporating eggs, mostly four a day. And my mental health has improved and the hair loss has decreased, so maybe some re-growth will be possible. At least that's what Andrew Baird reported here. I think for people who are seriously ill, the low vitamin A diet is too taxing, and a more moderate approach needs to be taken, as Lil Chick does, or a few others who also eat eggs for the choline content.

Hm, sounds like you're making very little progress, if I'm not mistaken. Have you tried just eating the yolks? The whites cause problems, waxy yolks taste better, but best for my digestion is when they are well cooked.
