Hypothyroidism

PreviousPage 5 of 5

@tanveen you are female? Do you have estrogen dominance issues? If yes I would look into copper dysregulation aka toxicity/overload.. That would be also the cause of low thyroid with low iodine, selenium, zinc etc.. Low thyroid will also slow down vit A metabolism and high vit A intake will slow down thyroid so it is vicious cycle.. I say that because this estrogen/copper is a major issue for big % of females.. I would add red meat for sure. Extra zinc and all those B vitamins etc is needed..

Thank you - this is very helpful. I am doing b12 injections but I have not added zinc or added lamb. Will do some research around this.

I wondered if anyone had any insight into this - I have an under active thyroid and was badly damaged by the Covid vaccine (extreme vitamin a poisoning symptoms). I’ve been on a diet of chicken, rice, pinto beans, raisins and activated charcoal for 3 weeks. My joint pain and head/eye pressure is better but I am getting very itchy yellow skin and dark patches in the skin. Is this a normal detox reaction? Also, not sure when/if to start adding peeled apple and grapes at some point. Did you find that the amount of levothyroxine you took changed over time with the diet? Thank you

@tanveen

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I want to prepare you: this is going to be a long journey. For me, it's probably going to be a decade. I've been on this journey for six years and am still waiting for profound changes. Some people see results pretty fast with low vitamin A, like Grant, @ourania, and @r-2. Others take detours or abandon the diet altogether. It's not easy. It takes time and a lot of persistence. I wish you good luck!

Thank you - I’ve been having red meat instead but I don’t feel that good on it. I think it may be because I have excess iron (I had an iron infusion a year ago before I knew about this). I have also seen the comments about beans not being good for the thyroid and pectin not being good (I have been eating apples as I thought apple pectin was good). Quite confused about what to eat now

bread not good - dries the body out and get night sweats (the niacin?) but will have it sometimes

milk not good - dioreah (vitamin A)

rice ok (but iron so don’t want to have too much?)

Pinto beans - seem to help digestion (but estrogenic?)

vegetables and fruits - mostly no (beta carotene and carotenoids)

Lamb - ok (have been taking out the fat as I thought we didn’t want to put more vitamin a into the body but a bit confused about whether to include more fat to bind to the vitamin a so more gets excreted in the bile)

apples and raisins - seem to be ok

trying to avoid goitrogenic foods (before the vaccine, soya used to make my eyes puff up  avoid cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage etc)

thyroid medicine gives my a headache so I think lil chick may be on to something about the cells not using it properly like insulin/diabetes
