I do a whole body wash several times/week before my daily morning shower, with it. ... I always wonder where all that dirt come from! After finished, you will feel so good
This is a wonderful suggestion. I'm going to start doing that. Thank you, @Inger.
Here is what AI has to say about Meine Base:
Poe
"Meine Base" is a brand name for a specific type of bath salt product. It is a mineral-based bath salt that is often used for alkaline baths. Alkaline baths are believed to help balance the pH of the skin and promote relaxation."Meine Base" bath salt contains a combination of natural minerals such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), sodium carbonate (soda ash), and other trace minerals. These ingredients are believed to have cleansing, soothing, and detoxifying effects on the skin.
To use "Meine Base" bath salt, you typically dissolve it in warm water and soak in the bath for a certain period, usually around 30 minutes. The specific instructions for usage may vary depending on the product, so it's important to read and follow the instructions provided on the packaging.
Some potential benefits associated with alkaline baths using "Meine Base" or similar bath salts include:
Skin cleansing: The minerals in the bath salt can help remove impurities and cleanse the skin.
Relaxation and stress relief: Taking a warm bath with bath salts can promote relaxation and help reduce stress and tension.
Skin hydration: Bathing in alkaline water may help improve skin hydration and moisture retention.
Alkalizing effect: It is believed that alkaline baths can help balance the pH of the skin, which may be beneficial for individuals with certain skin conditions."
My quess is the main ingredient is Epsom Salt. Easy to find at any pharmacy or health products store.
I checked iHerb, they don't have Meine Base, but they have plenty of other brands of mineral salts for bath.
And below I will add another post with a convenient "twist" on using this.

Quote from lil chick on November 17, 2023, 5:14 amAnd of course there is fluoride toothpaste and some pharmaceuticals to avoid. Â I've heard tea can be high.
I did spend some time trying to live without detergents and soaps. Â Â I ended up thinking they were good tools to use sparingly. Â Soap is a very traditional thing. Â Detergent is soap's modern stronger cousin. Â Shampoo is detergent, if you ever try to use soap on your hair you will see why. Â Liquid soaps may be detergents. Â There may be detergents in your toothpaste.
I resumed using toothpaste, but of course fluoride-free.
You can use baking soda and vinegar and make a volcano on your head. Â Â Liggets makes a bar shampoo. Â I tried those ideas but ended up instead with just lather, rinse, repeat with shampoo at max ONCE per WEEK. Â I've heard it said that your scalp will adjust if you don't wash it much. Â I don't think I ever made loads of scalp oil though.
I use very little dish detergent, but I keep some by the sink for very greasy pans and to wash my sink. Â I mostly use warm water, soaking, Â and elbow grease for my dishes (and never use my dishwasher). Â In fact, with my hard water washing and then drying by hand cleans dishes much better than the dishwasher with detergent. Â (which would coat the dishes with minerals)
For clothes I ended up just reducing the amount I use to about a tablespoon or two of detergent per load and adding baking soda, borax and white vinegar instead of all that detergent.
For skin I use traditional bar soap, not liquid. Â
For all of these things, I go scent and color free. Â I guess I eventually decided that soap and detergent were pretty neat inventions but I use them very sparingly.
I have to say that Inger's ideas do sound amazing! Â Very natural.Â

Ok, I need to think about it. It just feels weird because I haven't used anything like it before.
This is the cheapest place to buy MeineBase and other stuff in Finland. 😉
oh cool 🙂 that was way cheaper than Ruohonjuuri. I buy mine off the German Amazon, I get it for 17 - 22 euro / kg depending on how much I buy. Its great stuff to buy in bulk because it never gets old 🙂 . You really should try it, its sooo good 🙂

Quote from Larry on November 17, 2023, 5:28 amFurther to @Inger's suggestion of using bath salts for cleansing: You might want to use a "scrubbing glove". Picture below. (The cost translates to US 30 cents.
There are spas here that provide body scrubbing service. They use gloves like these.
Buckets of warm water, but they use soap, not bath salts. I'm sure, if I brought in my own salts, they would use that. (In fact, I'll try that next time!)
The scrubber person (always an attractive young woman, of course), puts on gloves like this and scrubs and scrubs and scrubs. Would be convenient to do it yourself if you got the gloves.

@larry-2 on my package it says, ingredients;
Sodium bicarbonate, Maris Sal, Sodium carbonate, Natural Minrelas, Agate, Carneol, Citrine, Chrysoprase, Chalcedony, Sapphire, Rock Crystal, Onyx.
I have tried similar brands but non have the effect than this brand has, it is also the most expensive. So I only use this brand. It truly is the best 🙂 I guess because it has quite expensive minerals in it than the other brands does not have. And that is why it works better too. It is also made in Germany which is a plus as I love Germany very much 😉

well, if you have a date, and wants super smooth silky skin, this is my trick ,)
take a couple spoonful of the Meine Base salt, mix it with a couple spoonful of honey and olive oil. You get a paste that you use to peel your whole body in the shower on wet skin. You can additionally use a brush too, but the peeling works great also like that. Rinse off with warm water.. and you are all silky 🙂 🙂

Quote from lil chick on November 17, 2023, 5:36 amInstead of those colored and synthetic gloves I would use a white cotton facecloth. Â I wash my eyes each morning with a white, cotton facecloth and water. Â Â Much better than using q-tips (cotton swabs on a stick), which have glue.
For dishes I have also stopped using plastic sponges, and use cotton. Â I do keep a scrubby sponge by the sink for washing the sink and very baked-on problem pans. Â I guess I do occasionally see synthetics as having some usages, but my goal is to have as natural a home as possible.

love all this! I like natural too. Furniture made of cotton or wood and other interior also wool or silk or cotton, I love the natural feeling. So relaxed. And of course natural light, candles or fire. What a difference.
