Liver detox and vitamin A

PreviousPage 2 of 2

@rusty  I did but I never really thought it was that helpful.

My thought now is that the first step in healing is to focus on the liver. Primarily through getting rid of vitamin A/retinoic acid, and secondly to get rid of excessive iron.

Once that is done, the body will naturally be able to handle small amounts of heavy metals without a problem. I might do a bit more heavy metal detox in the future. I've done Chris Shade's detox as well as the Andy Cutler Chelation protocol (ACC). My preference is ACC.

Good Morning @empirebuilder31, what's the best way to find out if one has heavy metal poisoning?

Sometimes it will show up on a hair test. I've had blood and urine tests done as well. The problem is, many of these tests are not precise, and/or only show recent exposures (blood tests specifically).

Most people have some degree of heavy metal toxicity, especially if you have mercury amalgam fillings, live in a house with lead paint, etc.

My strategy is to first work on vitamin A and iron toxicity, and if I don't have the full resolution of symptoms, I'll start a heavy metal detox protocol.

The other thing I'm considering doing is getting cavitation surgery.

OK, cool. Make sense. @empirebuilder31 What actions are you taking for iron toxicity? Thanks!

I've recently eliminated all of my supplementation after I came across Grant's blog here. The only supplements I still take are hemp protein powder, Lion's Mane, creatine, collagen, and BCAAs. Unfortunately I bought some spirulina before I found out about Vitamin A detox and it looks like spirulina has some carotenoids. I wonder if it is worth keeping or just throwing out!

Regarding supplements, my rule is "when in doubt, go without!"

For iron toxicity, I'm simply doing the vitamin A detox and giving blood every 3 months.

Apparently, iron and vitamin A are very correlated.

I also have some cast iron cookware...

Should using cast iron for cooking be avoided as well?

I would avoid cast iron cookware.
