Liver detox and vitamin A
Quote from empirebuilder31 on August 22, 2019, 8:59 am@rusty I did but I never really thought it was that helpful.
My thought now is that the first step in healing is to focus on the liver. Primarily through getting rid of vitamin A/retinoic acid, and secondly to get rid of excessive iron.
Once that is done, the body will naturally be able to handle small amounts of heavy metals without a problem. I might do a bit more heavy metal detox in the future. I've done Chris Shade's detox as well as the Andy Cutler Chelation protocol (ACC). My preference is ACC.

Quote from empirebuilder31 on August 22, 2019, 12:33 pmSometimes it will show up on a hair test. I've had blood and urine tests done as well. The problem is, many of these tests are not precise, and/or only show recent exposures (blood tests specifically).
Most people have some degree of heavy metal toxicity, especially if you have mercury amalgam fillings, live in a house with lead paint, etc.
My strategy is to first work on vitamin A and iron toxicity, and if I don't have the full resolution of symptoms, I'll start a heavy metal detox protocol.
The other thing I'm considering doing is getting cavitation surgery.

Quote from Deleted user on August 22, 2019, 12:40 pmOK, cool. Make sense. @empirebuilder31 What actions are you taking for iron toxicity? Thanks!
I've recently eliminated all of my supplementation after I came across Grant's blog here. The only supplements I still take are hemp protein powder, Lion's Mane, creatine, collagen, and BCAAs. Unfortunately I bought some spirulina before I found out about Vitamin A detox and it looks like spirulina has some carotenoids. I wonder if it is worth keeping or just throwing out!

For iron toxicity, I'm simply doing the vitamin A detox and giving blood every 3 months.
Apparently, iron and vitamin A are very correlated.

Should using cast iron for cooking be avoided as well?
