Liver Flushes
Quote from Jean on December 23, 2022, 8:32 pmFruits in general are not causing me any issues, it's mainly fats, eggs, and dairy that are causing mucous formation in my throat and reflux. These foods keep backing up in my throat for hours.
I have never tried malic acid supplements, I usually use ACV or plain apples. Do you think malic acid supplement is better at softening stones? I heard that L-malic acid is preferable than synthetic malic acid.
Yes, I've been struggling with sleep problems for many years. Trouble falling asleep and remaining asleep throughout the night.
I don't have any swollen lymph nodes.

Quote from John on December 23, 2022, 10:38 pmStill sounds like you have a systemic candida or bacteria infection. When it was bad for me, swallowing food was difficult and felt weird cause of either swelling or some kind of growth. At least you know what foods are causing you problems Although the reflux could be the issue, causing stomach acid to irritate and burn your throat and possible food residue and bacteria growth. From my research acid reflux could actually be due to it not being acidic enough in order to trigger the stomach open and empty into the small intestine. Malic acid with your meals might help. What protocol are you following if not the Andreas Moritz which calls for apple juice or malic acid? Join the FB group, they will guide you better through it. I just get the Nutricost brand, not sure how they extract the L-malic acid, from apples? And how they purify it. One I saw was mfg in China.

Quote from Jean on December 24, 2022, 6:54 amI follow the Andreas Moritz protocol and do my prep with apple cider vinegar since it is highly concentrated in malic acid. I will also add some chanca piedra and gold coin grass tinctures for my future flushes. Hope this will move the needle.

I don't recall the book saying anything about ACV for replacement of apple juice or malic acid supplement.
There is conflicting evidence on the amount of malic acid in ACV.

http://www.cider.org.uk/part3.htmI don't do well with ACV, seems to flare up candida/bacteria growth. It may be effecting you negatively as well.

Quote from Jean on December 24, 2022, 9:39 pmYou are right, ACV is not mentioned in Andreas Moritz protocol. A veteran flusher posted an article on malic acid on the facebook group concluding that ACV has the highest concentration:
Today’s topic:𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗗 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐇:In part 1 we talked about the malic acid in our diet and other stone softeners. In part 2 we’ll break down the four best sources for malic acid. We’ll also talk about my number one choice and why.𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐉𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐄First let’s talk about the one I believe should be deleted, or at least the last choice…apple juice. How did apple juice become a part of the flush protocol? A little bit of history…The liver/gb flush recipe dates back 1000s of years to Ayurveda. Back then a sick person was given an olive oil/citrus juice mix, with good results. There wasn’t a prep period with a malic acid source. Once it was discovered that malic acid had the ability to soften stones, apple juice was added. With apples being more widely available it became the go to source. Keep in mind, apples back then weren’t the sweet varieties we see today, and were higher in malic acid.So what’s the challenge with apple juice? Sugar, and lots of it. Apples contain ½ the malic acid of cranberries and ¼ the malic acid of tart cherry juice. Therefore we need 32oz of apple juice for sufficient malic acid content. Consuming the apple juice for 6 days puts it at a whopping 192oz off this sugary juice. So how much sugar is in apple juice? To put it in perspective, apple juice has more sugar ounce for ounce than Coca-Cola. In fact, there’s 7.9 teaspoons of sugar in a 12oz serving of apple juice, compared to 6.6 teaspoons in Coca-Cola.* Drink 32oz of apple juice and you’ll be getting 21 teaspoons of sugar per day. Drink that for six days and you’ll consume OVER A POUND OF SUGAR per flushIf you’re flushing once a month you’ll be consuming 13 POUNDS OF SUGAR a year just from the flush.
To make matters worse, excess sugar consumption is one of the leading causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.** Putting that much strain on the liver while prepping for a flush is unnecessary and counterproductive.𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐉𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐄Cranberry juice contains twice the amount of malic acid of apple juice. Therefore, 16oz a day is recommended. Cranberry juice contains about 2 teaspoons of sugar per 8oz serving, or 4 teaspoons a day for the 16oz recommended for the flush. Also, cranberry juice has been shown to help with digestive health by preventing the growth of H. pylori in the stomach lining.***Note: finding pure cranberry juice can be tricky. Read the label carefully. You want pure cranberry juice that’s organic and doesn’t contain any other fruit juices. Also, if you’re small framed or underweight you can reduce the amount of cranberry juice accordingly.𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐉𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐄Tart cherry juice contains four times the amount of malic acid of apple juice. Therefore only 8oz a day is needed. Tart cherry juice is about twice as sweet as cranberry juice but with only 8oz needed you’ll be consuming about 4½ teaspoons a day. Also, tart cherry juice has added benefit for those looking for better sleep, as it contains melatonin and tryptophan.****Note: this is another one the marketing experts like to manipulate. They’ll put Tart Cherry Juice in big letters and something like “blend” or “and other juices” in tiny print. Just like cranberry juice you want one that’s organic and doesn’t contain any other fruit juices. Also, if you’re small framed or underweight you can reduce the amount of tart cherry juice accordingly.𝐋-𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐃 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐃𝐄𝐑L-malic acid is just that, pure malic acid. The “L” form denotes natural whereas the “D” form is synthetic. You want the L form. The recommended amount is one teaspoon a day dissolved in 32oz water, sipped throughout the day. Also, if you’re small framed or underweight you can reduce the amount of malic acid accordingly.Tip: stevia pairs well with acidity (minimal off flavor). If you want a sugar free option, stevia with malic acid and water tastes surprisingly good.Note: Over the years many have taken malic acid capsules and experienced the same stone softening benefits. As to who can and who can’t is individual. Some experience stomach upset and/or heartburn, while others don’t. Best to take the capsules with food in divided doses to see how you do.𝐑𝐀𝐖 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐑Raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother) contains about ten times the amount of malic acid of apple juice. Therefore only 3oz a day is recommended. Of all the four malic acid options, apple cider vinegar has the most health benefits.***** Because it has so many benefits, this is my number one choice. With regards to liver and gallbladder health, apple cider vinegar thins bodily fluids allowing bile to flow more freely. An excellent way to incorporate ACV into the prep is to dilute 1oz ACV with 4-6oz water and drink before each meal. Some do this daily (ideally with a straw) for several months, even years, to assist their liver/gb. Because ACV is so effective some may experience a healing crisis. If you’ve been chronically ill for years best to start off slow and build up.All four malic acid sources are great options. One may suit you better than another. Experiment and see. The answers you seek are within you, and some answers will emerge along the way. You are your own healerFurther research:

I've done eight flushes, the stones are different leading up to my 5th with released the motherload. If its bile, ollive oil and epsom salt causing these stones, the flushes should produce similar results but it does not. I have also now have the best bowel movements in my 46 years of chronic constipation at the most frequency ever. I attribute this to releasing the stones and restoring space for bile as well as flow. My chemical sensitivities has improved as well, a sign of better liver function.
I've released about a fist size volume of stones, it's incredible that all that came from my gallbladder/liver. I assume that I've gotten most of it out. Now if I were to produce more stones than can't seem to be possibly fit into my gallbladder and liver, I'd start to question a little more where they are coming from but that hasn't happened yet...and who knows how fast stones can build up again? For now I'm 99% convinced those stones came from my liver/gallbladder and not formed in my gut from the protocol itself. Your belief aligns with what mainstream TV doctors say, to me they do it to keep the propaganda going for job security, big pharma, etc...cause God forbid if people found out liver flushes helps resolve their health issues...From memory I made a number of posts outlining why liver flush "stones" are not from the gallbladder or bile ducts.
Your evidence for the stones being from the gallbladder is that you don't experience consistent liver flush results and your health is better? That's your evidence to refute my posts?
Why are you throwing in a strawman about improved health? I believe I was one of the first here to introduce liver flushes as a potentially helpful way to accelerate vitamin A depletion. I've long discussed the detoxification benefits of bile excretion methods such as liver flushes and emetics. I'm also cautious about recommending methods that can have downsides or risks.

That my constipation is better than it has been in 46 years of life, yes. If you know anything about bile and the importance of it for digestion, you'd understand. I don't think you're here to understand how you may be wrong, but rather to defend that you are right. You are sounding more and more like mainstream media and science. They would say the same things and use the same tactics and twisted logic to discredit. Grant's experience. Would you tell him the same as you told me? That just because he's been on an 8 year no A diet, and his health has gotten better, means nothing and putting his health and eyesight at risk?
BTW I haven't read your posts, so I wouldn't know what to refute nor was that my intention. All I know is that my 46 years of constipation that was very extreme the past 3 years suddenly after 8 flushes, is the BEST that it's EVER been. So without conducting any experiment of your own, you're telling me that's impossible and has nothing to do with my liver flushes clearing out my bile ducts and that it's more likely due to depletion of vitamin A.... OK. lol
Why are you throwing in a strawman about improved health? I believe I was one of the first here to introduce liver flushes as a potentially helpful way to accelerate vitamin A depletion.
So you don't think unclogging bile ducts and gallbladder of stones might have ANYTHING to do with better liver function and better handling of vitamin A? Like excretion through bile? Ok.
I've long discussed the detoxification benefits of bile excretion methods such as liver flushes and emetics. I'm also cautious about recommending methods that can have downsides or risks.

I don't think I've made a post here in months. Why dredge up an old post of mine you disagree with, tag me, insinuate that I have some agenda and then get mad when I respond defending myself?
They would say the same things and use the same tactics and twisted logic to discredit.
Stop projecting, all you are doing is trying to discredit me rather than debate the topic at hand.
You are sounding more and more like mainstream media and science.
Sounds like you don't understand the difference between scientism and science. It's comical that you think me "sounding like science" is an insult while claiming to be an authority on something that requires an understanding of physiology and anatomy.
BTW I haven't read your posts, so I wouldn't know what to refute nor was that my intention.
So you haven't read the relevant posts I made and you're not interested in debate you just want to randomly tag me and make me accept how wrong I am since you have a different opinion?

Dishonest misinterpretation. I wrote: "I've long discussed the detoxification benefits of bile excretion methods such as liver flushes and emetics." Do you realize that health benefits can occur solely from bile excretion, that benefits don't have to have anything to do with clearing gallstones? I guess you haven't researched the long history of use of emetics in folk medicine huh? What do you think the whole purpose is of including more beta glucan in the diet as I've advised for years?

Are you saying that intra-hepatic stones do not exist? Congested bile ducks in the liver are not to be blamed in people feeling sick, but rather Vitamin A overload is the real culprit? Does coffee enema achieve the same result as the liver flush in excreting old congested bile out of the system and promote new bile production?

They do exist but liver flush "stones" are formed in the gut. When gallstones exist it may be best to focus on improving liver health and bile chemistry rather than attempting a liver flush. Certain foods help to avoid gallstones too, malic acid containing fruit like apples are an example as you know.
I don't think coffee enemas will remove bile like a liver flush will.
SIBO interferes with bile so I think it may interfere with excretion of bile toxins. Adopting a diet that is close to optimal can drastically improve liver health and bile chemistry.
Something else that can block liver bile ducts is liver fluke. Never eat raw watercress.
