Love your liver course review Dr Garrett Smith

PreviousPage 4 of 4

@Jessica2 I really hope you stay, I learn a lot from you!   I can see why it would be annoying to find that people are clucking like chickens over what you have said, but I suppose that the reason we are all here is to hash things out.    I'm sure they talk about me too, LOL.   Couldn't care less.

I log on every morning and share my opinion and listen to others opinions and hope that we all take something away that is useful.

haters gonna hate, as they say

I think one of the reasons we all disagree is that probably all humans have different needs and problems, even the subset of humans who have VA toxicity probably have different needs and problems.

Nice move Janelle:🙄

Just because you know one family that eats eggs and happens to be in bad Health doesn't mean eggs cause disease. Now go run to Garrett and tell him what I said why don't you?

I dont need randos like you telling me to reconsider my diet. This is just bad form and it's why I stopped posting here and probably will stop now too.

Just a caveat to everyone else, Janelle might go to Garretts twitter with what you say here so they both can snort and chuckle about how stupid they think you are.

Yes because I disagree with you and Garrett about vitamin E that makes me equivalent to a fentanyl user? That's what you and Garrett laughed about together.

I told you everything I said in that comment to your face. I'm not sure why it's offensive for me to say it elsewhere. You are being hypocritical by posting my twitter name and calling out my comments over here, I never used your name or called you stupid. I stand by my opinion that you need vitamin E because the carnivore diet is not healthy and that I myself have also said 'i feel great using that' while my health was falling apart. Again I stand by comments. I have a lot of personal experience using supplements as crutches and I wish I hadn't stayed on them as long as I did, they should be used for emergencies to pull yourself out of disaster. I've been researching health and nutrition for 15 yrs. I relate to Garrett because research and doing detective work is fun for me. But most of my experiments ended badly because I couldn't see the forest for the trees. I think a lot of medicine is like that. They don't see the system as a whole working together. They look at a study and say hey this thing does this one thing maybe we should use it! (and ignore the mountain of side effects) I could go on and on. I'm not saying that's what you are doing but the only way someone can say 'I'll see you when you mess yourself up' is they have seen it first hand.

As far as Garrett...he talks nasty about this forum because he's constantly being put down over here. I am not in his inner circle or whatever so I don't have all the facts about that and I'm sorry for the way some have been treated over there, particularly Jenny, but in all honesty it's his network, it's not a social media forum these are some of his clients and if someone is going to 'speak out' against his practices then I would also remove them from the network and as a client in self defense. Although Jenny did say she removed herself, he didn't do that. But I know of one who said they got removed for speaking out. If someone doesn't like his practice they can leave, that's his policy. We can bitch and cry about it, but that's how private practice works. Has any of you even seen the things doctors do in private practice? I mean every single one of them is putting patients on drugs and drugs alone. We should be all up in arms over that, it's just that it's expected so no one cares. They only know surgery and drugs. It's rare to see a doctor cure anyone. But one thing Garrett is doing that we find terrible and oh no he needs to be called out like a snake oil salesman! That's just unfair. No one is perfect. I don't know any health practitioner that has it all figured out. Every single one of them has a bias and a blind spot. And sometimes it feels like they treat patients as guinea pigs. If that didn't happen we wouldn't have any data!!!! Hindsight is always 20/20. I wish we didn't have to experiment and we could just see the future but we can't. That's why it's important to listen to people who have been there done that.

We all need to do what works for us, I am sorry for being too critical as I have been in a place where I need to use something to feel better that maybe isn't the best thing to use long term. I just wish people would listen to other's instead of being defensive and saying 'well it works for me!'. I know how it is I WAS THAT PERSON.

...I follow many homesteaders who have pastured hens that are eating a large egg breakfast every single day and they aren't healthy at all. One of them Justin Rhodes always has some kind of health problem. His wife had her gallbladder taken out and looks far from healthy. They eat as close to the land as they possibly can, shouldn't their livers be amazing? Doesn't look like it. ...

I have totally posted about this before (even this particular family!) and it is a real problem that I have seen too (and live it).      It isn't just wapfer's either.

I've posted that I think animal feeds are totally screwed up, even the organic ones.

I've also posted that I think there is a limit to the amount of eggs one should eat.   What that is, I don't know.   But I also think of eggs as amazing food that can make everything from a chicken butt to a chicken beak and they SHOULD be good food.   IMO eggs are getting ruined by something.

Yes I agree, they should be healthy at a certain number per day I think that number is one for most people, as they are packed with a lot of stuff. I am weary of 'more is better'. I was that way as I think I have some ADHD. More is always better! lol I think Justin Rhodes has ADHD too lol. Is he still doing carnivore? I can't follow his channel much because it's so all over the place now with the editing.

And yeah maybe the eggs are getting ruined by chicken feed. Even pasture raised get feed. I think Rhodes actually stopped pasturing their hens? They are in a barn type structure now. I guess it's near impossible to have only pastured hens in the north. What's in the feed!

Garret Smith's personality is just so "shoot from the hip" LOL!   Now I'm not against men being *men*  (actually, it gives me a little thrill LOL).   Cowboys are sexy (personal opinion there, LOL).

Shooting from the hip can keep a cowboy alive, and so I can see that the tendency for it is quite human and I can see how it evolved as a human trait.   I even think we should note our shoot-from-the-hip opinion, because sometimes we do overthink things.

But you know... when you are a shooter-from-the-hip too often... people might think you are a bit of a loose cannon.

The alternative health world ain't the old west.   Of course, there is the other side of the coin, that being outrageous might get clicks.

This week I'm really into this video:

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

In the health world, that translates into "first do no harm" I suppose.

I said you can say what you want and I also said that Garrett can do what he wants on his own network. I find his mental toxicity doesnt make me feel good or like I'm on the right path. I don't know how long you've been on his Network or followed him on Twitter but this isn't new behavior for him and no it didn't begin here.

Anyone can go on twitter and see your handle, it's public and you haven't protected your profile obviously or made it private. You dont have personal info or pictures it seems on either of these forums. I wouldn't have known it was you but you repeated our conversation there which made it obvious.

Again you can repeat everything that we say here over there, but really to what end? What are you trying to accomplish? I hope that you are further into Garrett's good graces now, for whatever good that does you I suppose.

I thought I had indeed listened to you and you provided good food for thought about vitamin E. I still happen to believe there is good evidence it is indeed a good thing at least for me, and no not because I'm carnivore because when I used it the first time I wasn't carnivore. And I'm not akin to a fentanyl addict because I believe so.

Masculinity can certainly feel that way. He is way on the masculine side. Most men are way on the feminine side so it is jarring to see. But we need more masculine men willing to say what needs to be said and not back down to all the Jezebels of the world. It's just that we need the masculine men to stay accountable, unfortunately that isn't always the case. Many men with any power don't want to be held accountable for anything. We are seeing that right now with the international house of prayer. Sorry bit of a tangent.

I had to stop following the love your liver thing 1.5 yrs ago because i wasn't ready for the messaging. I was in the midst of having panic attacks again and I unfollowed every health channel and didn't talk about health at all for that whole time. I did a lot of spiritual healing during that time. And now I feel ready to tackle the things that felt too scary back then. Like my poor habits. And all my crutches. God is leading me to what is best. I had to learn to listen. I tend to want control because of childhood trauma. Controlling my health was my obsession. Surrendering to the Father God was what I needed.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to get teacher's pet award. I was honestly just frustrated and knew he'd understand. But I don't have all the answers either. Just been around the block a number of times to realize extremes typically don't work in the long run for the vast majority of people. Sometimes I forget people are doing the best they can with what they have going on right now. We are all on a journey to truth. I don't judge Mikhala Peterson for eating only steak because that's clearly what works for her... but if she were my client I would be helping her eat more foods. She said even a cucumber caused a reaction. My detective hat goes on immediately! I am so so so curious what happens in the end with the Peterson family who only eat steak. They are a science experiment! It's very interesting. I have a feeling Mikhala will try to eat more foods.

@janelle525 I agree with the Peterson watching! I remember thinking the same thing when she described her reaction. I also feel like Jordan has gotten angrier since he's been on carnivore and that made me not want to try it but a friend irl and I are doing this at the same time so I'm getting moral support in that way and that is much more powerful than online support.

I shouldn't have even gotten on twitter tbh. That place is a waste dump of toxicity. It's the first time in several weeks that I've gotten on it because it became too much. I've been super happy off of it. I knew better.

Anyhow I get where you're coming from. Props for reseting your mind. I think its a very overlooked aspect of health and maybe the hardest part.

Thanks for your understanding. I agree that twitter is a waste dump. Literally the only reason I went on was because Garrett writes a lot there. And I know better as well. Every single social media website has given me more stress than benefits. I need to keep on the right track keep on the narrow path.

Well keep us posted on how things work out, keep listening to your body, don't stick with anything if you notice you can't tolerate more things. It's sometimes a slow fade. After going on the Ray Peat stuff where he was opposed to anything that irritated the gut, I lost my ability to tolerate any whole grains, whole nuts, or beans. I used to eat these things all the time on Weston A Price stuff. My favorite was pistachios. I made an amazing whole wheat sourdough pancake too. Just so many regrets! I hate to have anyone regret the diet they undertook to get to a higher state of health. That includes the ultra low vitamin a diet!

I was considering joining the Love Your Liver program, so thank you for the reminder that he doesn't allow disagreement in his discussion group. I would be interested in authentic discussion with the other members, but if different perspectives or experiences are censored, it seems pointless to join.

Can anyone in his program share their experience with how he handles differing opinions? Does he seem tyrannical and controlling?

Thank you.
