I’m very cautious with all supplements nowadays, however, I think taking the right ones in the right amounts is hugely important. Working out what is ‘right’ is the issue. I’m taking some minerals based on testing and some low dose Bs.

Quote from Mike on June 6, 2022, 2:18 pmBeen 2.5 years now on low VA diet. Three months ago I started to add in some fruit to my carnivore diet (bananas, pineapple, berries) and noticed a felt a little better. Mainly improvements in sleep and at the gym. Continue to improve overall but still seems like I have a ways to go and I do have my detox moments; usually triggered by excessive sun or too much alcohol. I have left Canada and have now been living in Mexico for the last 7 months. Gave blood for the first time since coming down and got a pretty bad detox cycle after which seems to happen with me often.

Have you ever had gas on a carnivore diet?
I've been trying to stick as closely to a low Vitamin A carnivore diet as I can (I only deviate to manage detox symptoms) for almost 2 years now, seem to have flushed a lot of Vitamin A out of my system, but have suffered horribly from gas in the middle of the night for almost the entire time, as well as other GI problems. I never get gas during the day, just at night, starting around 12AM and ending around 10AM the next morning.
I'm pretty sure I have ongoing gut dysbiosis that was exacerbated by really caustic diarrhea earlier in my low Vitamin A experiment, and then perpetuated by overdoing magnesium and giving myself chronic diarrhea for over a year. I think I totally flushed out and destroyed my colon biome. I recently reduced my magnesium supplementation to almost nothing and the diarrhea stopped immediately, but the gas problem and GI discomfort at night continues. I've thrown a variety of probiotics (some with prebiotics) at it, and have experimented with fiber, but nothing has fixed it. I am very satisfied eating carnivore and all I ever crave is fatty meat...drives me crazy that I can't shake this gut problem that seems isolated to the colon!
Thanks for your updates, I've found them helpful.

Quote from Mike on June 7, 2022, 3:44 pmI have never had any real gas issues on carnivore. Interesting, I definitely had issues with SIBO and gas before and all the probiotics I tried made things worse. Luckily, carnivore cleared that up for me. I did do a few 3 day water fasts early on into carnivore and some bone broth fasts. Hard to say, but I think those helped speed up the gut healing process. You ever try a fast?

I limit my eating (two meals) to about an 8 hour window each day, but I've never fasted for much longer than that. I've tried to go for 24 hours a couple times but I start feeling extremely weak, shaky, and out of it, even when drinking plenty of water with electrolytes. I am also soooo hungry every day, even on carnivore, probably because I've been somewhat limiting my fat intake due to symptoms and my bodily fat stores are at a minimum.

Quote from Mike on November 12, 2022, 1:17 pmI have a dilemma and Im not sure who to talk to you about this so going to post here.
I have been seeing this girl casually for about 6 months. We normally see each other once a week and the strangest thing happens when she spends the night. I get really ill the next day and throw up. Yes, every time this happens I was consuming alcohol but I am 35yrs old and have thrown up from a hangover 6 times in my life. And 4 of the 6 times were in the last 6 months when she stayed the night. She has only spent the night 5 times. When this happens, I do not drink anymore than I would on a casual night of indulgence. The other 2 times I have gotten sick the next day was years ago and from a absurd amount of drinking and threw up immediately upon waking. After she spends the night the next day I am little cloudy and tired like a minor hangover and then get really bad at around noon, throw up, and then feel more or less fine after. It is soooo strange. So many other times essentially the same sequence of events happens (drinks, hanging out with her at my place) but she doesnt spend the night and there is no midday sickness/puke. Some date points:
I am environmentally sensitive : EMFs , fragrances , chemicals, mold
She is triple vaxxed but her third one was more than 6 months ago
I have to tell her not to wear perfume around me but she does still use things with fragrances and I believe she uses a lot of body lotion. She keeps her phone away from me when we are sleeping.
I have had other girls sleep over in the last few years and never had this reaction (never asked but assuming some were vaxxed)
Leading theories:
1) I am sensitive to something she wears, likely a body lotion. When she spends the night, this combined with alcohol is over taxing my body and leads to issues the next day. Would make sense why when she doesnt spend the night, that few hours alone gives my body a chance to catch up and detox. This is the most likely imo
2) Something to do with the Vaxx and spike protein. Havent been able to find too much information on this. Have heard of other environmentally sensitive ppl getting reactions from freshly vaxxed. Like I said, she had her 3rd dose a while back. I would rly like to disprove this one
Anyway I am just a bit baffled and looking for any feedback or ideas as to whats going on. Will tell her not to wear any body lotion or anything potentially toxic next time we see each other. Going to take a month off drinking so will pay close attention to how I feel around her.

My vote would be for your first hypothesis. As terrible as I think these "vaccines" are, I don't think there's any good evidence to show that significant amounts of spike proteins remain in circulation for more than a couple weeks, and what does possibly remain in circulation is probably very unlikely to be spread outside the body and contracted by someone else in a way that would cause a response. If you were having problems around someone who had been vaccinated within the past week or two, I would consider your second hypothesis a little more, but if it's been months after vaccination I highly doubt that's your problem.
Probably stating the obvious here, but it would be a simple experiment to NOT drink when this person came over and spent the night and see how your body responds in the absence of alcohol.

Quote from Mike on November 12, 2022, 4:16 pmThanks for the feedback. Yes, no drinks around her for a month and will report back. I really dont puke often at all and even though I am sensitive to environmental toxins it does seem strange to get this profound of an outcome the next day (even with alcohol involved). Whatever is causing it must really not be sitting well with my body. I remember her saying she uses a body lotion all over her body...would make a lot of sense if she uses a high retinol cream. Would explain the delay in reaction; my body needs to detox the alcohol first and then the access Vit A. Is the same pattern I reported before as alcohol and hangovers take me out of detox and the post hangover is often much worse than the hangover
