Quote from Jean on January 23, 2023, 8:32 am@andrew-b, I listened to live Q&A from Dr. Garrett Smith, he was explaining that choline was responsible for storing VitA in the liver and should be avoided. Whats your take on it?

Quote from Andrew B on January 23, 2023, 9:03 am@jean As Grant Genereux said in his video. Wouldn't you rather the Vitamin A was in the liver ? That's where it's meant to be. And if you have enough choline it then makes phosphatidylcholine to add to the bile salts to remove Vitamin A from the body. This video explains the whole process. It's accepted science choline deficiency causes fatty liver and replenishing it restores liver health. I've done the egg experiment and eggs INCREASE the detox. Numerous other people say this too. People will get test results this year and we'll see how choline helps liver health and improves other numbers. Elliot Overton. About 10.29 in video for most relevant diagram. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgssbwKm02k

Quote from Jean on January 23, 2023, 9:24 am@andrew-b. I thought that excess VitA stored in the liver was impairing liver functions? Dr Garreth Smith explained that the body was storing vitA in the liver as a short term solution to prevent it from circulating in the blood stream and damage other organs, but will also be damaging the liver in the long run. Do you disagree with Dr Garrett Smith in his stance against choline and egg consumption?

Quote from Andrew B on January 23, 2023, 9:32 am@jean But someone consuming a low Vitamin A diet with eggs at 5-7% of RDA for vit A is never going to run into an excess Vitamin A problem. Choline is what helps fatty liver. Phosphatidylcholine removes Vitamin A in the bile. Of course I disagree with his stance over choline and eggs consumption. His simplistic explanations aren't even worth talking about it in a subject of such complexity. Speak to Steven Zeisel or read his studies if you want to genuinely learn about choline. There's 100s of studies supporting choline (and betaine) for liver disease. Search choline in this forum.

Quote from Jean on January 23, 2023, 9:49 am@andrew-b Dr Berg is also consuming 4 eggs per day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--Rx7EZyC7s
Do you consume any soluble fibres like psyllium husk, PHGG, and legumes to get rid of the old bile?

Quote from Andrew B on January 23, 2023, 9:55 am@jean Yes, a few people suggest 4 eggs a day whilst not realising high carotenoids and high vit A should be reduced. My diet provides enough fibre: apples, onions, spelt flour, mushrooms (beta glucans), white cabbage, oats and beans (not much), potatoes, parsnips and other fruit. Sometimes use activated charcoal now.
