Quote from puddleduck on April 11, 2023, 10:02 amSerum retinol (a.k.a. serum vitamin A) is the test you want. (Dr. Smith suggests a reference range in this video: https://youtu.be/A37MeQknnio) If you’re going to test serum copper, it’d probably be worth getting plasma or serum zinc too, if you can. Those are the three (retinol, copper, zinc) blood tests Dr. Smith requires of his patients, as he compares the ratio of copper to zinc. 🙂

Quote from David on April 14, 2023, 8:35 amHello dear people! I got some tests from my alternative practitioner today and I am quite sad. I'll share them here, even though they are partly in German. Maybe someone can tell me if they noticed similar things at the beginning and if they have improved.
The most annoying thing is that I obviously have a leaky gut or in the worst case a chronic intestinal inflammation (I pray that it is not like that) because my alpha-1-anti-trypsin is extremely high, the zonulin unfortunately also.... I need to do a colonoscopy:-(
Then I have blood values, my ferritin is in the basement (although I eat mainly meat) and my T-lymphocytes are reduced, which probably also points to a chronic inflammation.
I was very optimistic that the low VA diet was the key, but it looks like the damage to my body is greater than expected and I don't know where to start...

But because your ferritin and red blood cells are lower it really can be from low copper. Molybdenum low as expected as well. and yes taking vit D3 is not a good idea. It increases calcium, lowers potassium. Not a good thing.. For increasing copper don't take supplements that is dangerous. Just eat things like mushrooms, grains or pseudograins like oats, buckwheat, quinoa, some legumes beans, sunflower seeds, cashews if you want. They are all high in copper.. For molybdenum you could start taking supplements like 150mcg pill 2 times a week or something.. Take some magnesium as well. Some magnesiume malate/glycine and/or magnesium chloride internally/transdermally.. + I would take 200mcg of vit K2(mk7) for sure as well. Accutane probably depleted every bit from your body..

Quote from David on April 14, 2023, 9:18 amThank you for the quick answer, but as my intestines are obviously so bad at the moment, I'm thinking of giving up cereals and pulses for the time being. I think I will try to continue using meat, rice and possibly psyllium husk as a fiber substitute. But I still have to buy that. The copper is a great point! 🙂

Quote from Jiří on April 14, 2023, 10:21 am@david-2 well if you keep eating just rice and meat you will be more and more imbalanced.. I don't see any reasons why restrict so much. Just try one food at the time and if it doesn't give you any digestive issues keep eating it.. Try some mushrooms for now.
