No More Burning Skin

I'm not sure why I keep updating this - I'm pretty sure I have a different problem. I cannot tolerate any foods except for potatoes (flesh only) and potato chips, and beef (not grass-fed). I have researched causes and came up with EGID (Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders) and am seeing an allergist in January. EGID does seem to be "auto-immune" with many sufferers having Raynauds like myself, so perhaps it's pertinent. Otherwise, this is my last post.

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare disease (10/100.000).... When I was very sick in the past - and I am still far from feeling healthy, I thought I had some bizarre genetic disease. I have read a ton of articles about mitochondrial dysfunction, various metabolic disorders, CFS treament....and I was totally depressed from all these informations.  But what I've learned is that I should always consider simpler explanations of my condition first....And most of the time it worked. Only vitamin A toxicity was something that took me the longest to figure out - because I supplemented VA only in "low doses" 4000 IU daily....because I was afraid of toxicity - what a paradox, I was already toxic and I didn't know it. If I used higher doses, I could have figured it out sooner because symptoms of toxicity would occur more quickly and there would be a clear connection.  And many symptoms as chronic heavy metal toxicity, VA toxicity, lyme symptoms... are very similar! Most people today have a problem with heavy metals , the people have hormonal problems, adrenal fatigue, various chronic and mold infections, nutrient imbalancies, vitamin D deficiency, gut problems...I would definitely start here.

When I had the worst gut problems with bleeding and pains,  for two weeks I ate only meat broth, fat and stewed carrots, everything else caused me pain.

This was the first sentence I have found about Reynaud in the Cutler group:

"Andrew Hall Cutler Both Reynaud's syndrome and peripheral neuropathy are caused by mercury." -  I don't know if this is really true but heavy metals are responsible for many symptoms, auto-immune conditions, thyroid, adrenals problems. With weak adrenals immune system is low and I had always very low blood pressure.

Actually I don't believe in various auto-immune disorders, allergies, pyroluria, oxalate, histamine problems... I think there is always a cause behind it. This was an article someone posted today on Dr. Garrett Smith forum (is free now - or some part of it): https://iamajuicer.wordpress.com/2019/11/30/it-is-not-the-mold-or-oxalates/

I wish you to find the cause of your condition and quick healing.

@bludicka it sounds like you have had a very rough time. I think that mitochondrial health is key to good health - have you looked at the work on vitamin A as a mitochondrial toxicant.

Also thank you for posting the piece on mold & oxalates. I think this is right. No one looks at why these things have become a problem - they are not the real route cause. One point I did think of about mold is Dr Klinghart’s idea that mold is more toxic now because it feels under threat due to EMFs. There seems some validity in this.

Thanks for the article. I have read this: http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0001-37652015000301361

But I don't know what to do in this direction except slow VA detox and a few supplements...natural vitamin C, E, CoQ10.  I've tried many mitochondrial supplements in the past but they didn't help me much. Every toxicity as heavy metals, VA toxicity, chemicals, glyphosates, chemotherapy, radiation... causes damage to mitochondria - and it will not improve without detox and sometimes detox can last for several years and many other things need to be addressed at the same time - adrenals, hormones, gut problems, chronic infections, nutrients. I've always tried to figure out the root of the problem.

Only one special supplement I am taking for brain and I think it can be very benefical, l-carnosine low doses. L-carnosine is a natural heavy metals chelator and neuroprotectiv. And it is safe for long term use in low doses.

I follow Dr. Klinghardt... it is not only mold, lyme and various infections should be more active and agressive today because of EMFs.

Thanks for your information, @bludicka. I've had Raynauds since I was 10; I doubt I had mercury toxicity then, but it's possible. In addition, I've always had some allergies (though nowhere near the extent I have now), and spent a good deal of time vomiting as a child. I hope I don't have EGID, but after being on a low vitamin A diet for almost a year and still reacting to things like white rice and organic chicken, I have to look into other options. My reactions are severe, too - vomiting, difficulty breathing, fast heartrate/palpitations, along with the less severe burning skin sensation, itching, nerve pain, hives. I'm seeing an allergist, and probably a gastroenterologist as well.

Hi Eliza!  Please don't leave entirely, I always feel we share a lot of our symptoms.

I'm having the fast heart rate right now as I type lol.   I'm pretty sure this bout was brought on by sulfites in wine yesterday.

I've written about my food attacks before, when talking with Tim, and like you they started early for me.  Strangely, I haven't had one since being on lower VA.  Neither have I had a real migraine.

Has anything changed for the better for you on lowered VA?

(I don't know if being in the early stages of meno is also helping.  Hey something to look forward to!)

I also agree with the article that mold and other allergens shouldn't be bothering us as much as they are, and the underlying problems need to be fixed to make the allergies calm down.

I think that perhaps some important stuff was brought up yesterday regarding breaking into the cycle of re-uptake of bile?

I'm going to step up my usage of beans and other fiber.  I'd read some things in the past about fiber not being all that helpful, and it jibed with my seeming inability to deal with it.   So I was really avoiding it.

However, maybe my inability to deal with fiber is actually a symptom of the fact that it is taking away toxins, and in so doing is sort of making it's way through my system like a beat-up garbage scow.

Thanks @lil-chick. Honestly, if you can have wine at all (I stop breathing) and can eat beans (fast heart rate, palpitations, hives/itching), then we don't have the same symptoms.

Hi Eliza!  I'm going to re-read your whole thread and digest it and write more later.

Ok, we both have had:  hives, itching (to the point of can't sleep), dry eyes, allergies including cat, raynauds, pinguecula, insomnia, acne, chilblains, low weight, low mood and energy, hair loss, eye lash loss, painful intercourse, nausea, heart racing and menstrual problems.

That's a pretty close list!  (we each have some particular problems the other doesn't share)  I almost wonder if we could be related.    I shop and go to doctors in your state.  We breathe the same air, eat the same local foods, my water is similar to your water, most probably same pollutants and naturally occurring minerals.  Our weather is the same, we have the same amount of sunshine in our lives!  Perhaps, like you, my ancestors also lived in this area going back a while.

I think I am feeling better than you, although I do know that I still have a long way to go here at 7 months in.  I'm not all the way better at all yet.  I will post about my current diet on my log in case it helps you.  I expect to be on this detox a couple of years.  My diet isn't small (on purpose), and perhaps that slows down the detox, but perhaps that is in a way... easier to tolerate?
