Not being able to fall back asleep

Thanks Andrew. I will keep working on my ability to digest fat. I had to lower it greatly. I may take betain Hcl as I am experimenting to see if I have high oxalates in my body. I have withdrawn the ox foods and my joints have lit up like a Christmas tree. As well, my nose keeps running which it never does. I feel like I need to do low vitamin A and low oxalate. Kind of tough for food choices though. I have bought tallow and will fry my eggs in it. What are your thoughts on the oxalate issue?

@michelle2 Removing all the oxalate foods at once can trigger a big dump of them from the body. I suggest managing the vitamin A reduction as priority and keeping in some low to medium oxalate foods if possible especially quinoa and beetroot for betaine in small amounts. I think there's an increased need for thiamine on this diet and for those eating a lot of meat only and thiamine/B1 helps the oxalate issue. I'd suggest food at first like sunflower seeds, oats, nuts, small fish and mushrooms but you might need more. Rather than high doses I say to find the lowest level that helps. Following the vitamin A reduction will eventually enable more consumption of oxalate foods.

@andrew-b Thanks for the suggestions. I have been having almost no oxalates and have been upping my B1 Benfotiamine, today I took 80 mgX 8 pills. I don’t feel any energy just very wiped out. Also very poor sleep. And eating a lot of plain yogurt, a bit of white rice, roast beef (not fatty cuts) hard boiled eggs, apples, bananas, cheese a bit of cabbage or bok Choi. I will have to figure out the exact amount of  vitamin A in the dairy. Only 2 eggs a day. TTFT form of B1 is coming in the mail. I am adding the mineral cofactors for the B1. The whole oxalate and cancer connection bothers me so I do want it out. Yesterday and the day before I had 1 Tbsp cocoa made into hot chocolate to slow things down. I sure miss it every day! I grew beets this summer and miss eating them..could add some back.

@jessica2 That is so interesting being a Type A and having no issues with fat and meat. Maybe I have low Thiamine. It seems d pleated by so many things and does affect the health of the gut. I am happy for you as being able to eat meat and fat easily helps with this vit A and oxalate problem as it seems we will be needing more meat than usual, or definitely I will be.
