Oil for frying, white beans
Quote from puddleduck on June 9, 2020, 9:20 am@r-2 That sounds delicious! Thank you for the recipe. 😁
@jiri Acrylamide comes from sugars, not coconut oil, but I get that you are saying using coconut does not allow you to avoid it. 😝 Apparently, it will form in potatoes baked at higher temperatures regardless of what oil you use or even if you use it at all. So if you want to be “not normal” like Jiri (sorry gotta tease you about that bud 😄), you would stick to boiled potatoes, I guess. 🙂

Quote from Jiří on June 9, 2020, 9:48 am@puddleduck I know that acrylamide is not from fat.. That's why I already don't have air fryer at home.. It is acrylamide machine.. Btw what is that crunchy, brown/orange surface on meat after cooking in air fryer or regular frying or baking? I believe that is also not good.

Quote from puddleduck on June 9, 2020, 9:52 am@jiri Yeah, I figured you did! Oh that is a good point about air fryers. 😆 Yeah, apparently it is better not to darken your toast too much either, if you are concerned about acrylamide. I cannot stand dark toast!

Yes I noticed that frying meat caused me problems, but it is a more convenient way (at least for me) I will move on to cooking it with water and explore your suggestions

Quote from Jiří on June 9, 2020, 10:36 am@puddleduck toast? I am gluten free like 10 years. 🙂
@grapes I cook my chicken/turkey thighs or ground beef on pan with little water and lid on it. There is no need to use any extra fats for cooking.. Once a week I will bake in the oven whole chicken or mackerel or something. That is "cheat meal" for me.. 🙂
