Onion and depression

I have cut back my use of garlic and onions by half.  I find when I do have a jolt of it I have body odor for a day.  I don't think anyone in the family has noticed that I've cut back at all.  We occasionally use garlic as an antibiotic.  Powerful stuff.

@lil-chick.

Thanks for your comment. I must agree that the alliums are very powerful and perhaps should be used more like a medicine than food...Onions and garlic became a staple in my cooking. Maybe eating something 365 days a year is not a good idea.

Thank you all for your suggestions and comments.

I have been musing over this latest reaction to onions as it was the most intense food related reaction in terms of mental health.
I chat with my friends from different parts of the world and they report similar issues as of late. 3 of us (from England, Scotland and Germany) got blood blisters in the mouth at about the same time. We feel unwell, scattered, moody, with poor appetites, unusual bleeding, low blood pressure, tinnitus, etc.
With what is happening in the world, I cannot “blame” my low A diet (my 2 contacts do not follow any special diet). And being a conspiracy theorist as I am, I think that various elements besides the food have effects on our physiology and latest un-ease.

There are lots of things flying around, Beata!  My tinnutis has also been bad.

As I pondered about aliums  because of your post, the thought of a herx reaction came to me...  you know, because the aliums are possibly killing germs.

I eat a small amount aliums every day, and so perhaps keep the germies at a certain level and don't see sudden "die off".

An update about what is happening after the onion calamity.
I completely lost interest/ appetite/ desire for any vegetables. For many years vegetables were my dearest beloved and I consumed copious amounts of them. Since the low A diet, I still had some - mostly seasonal and white.
However, ever since I had this reaction to onion, I completely lost any desire for vegetables!
I am eating meat and beans, and small amount of cashews on occasion.

@beata-2 The cramps would tend to indicate a strong detox with some leakiness. I think onions and sulfur increase the detox. That has been my experience with increasing the onions. I got cramps when the beans went to 250 grams cooked in a day. Eggs helped reduce the leakiness and I no longer get weird cramps from eating potatoes, cruciferous and sulfur rich foods.

@andrew-b how did you measure that it helped decrease the "leakiness"? and what is this leakiness, and how do we know it is there?
