Place to track my progress and thoughts.   Started low VA on Nov 6th  2018, read Grant's Poison PDF the day before.

Noticed my elbows today, haven't look at them in awhile.  They were yellowish/greenish/brownish, always covered in dry white dust, callused, and had lots of these small bumps and plugs(not sure if keratin, calcium, sebum...),  they are nice and even skin tone, pale, no bumps, no white dust, smooth like in my youth.  This was right after a nice hot drying shower.    This same effect is happening on my feet.

Eyesite is improving, I have some presbyopia in my left eye, right eye is 20/20, left eye is catching back up to my right eye, very exciting.

Acne, and combo of extreme oily and extreme flaking dry skin are my biggest issue, continues to heal slowly, but the progress so far is nothing short of amazing, cannot wait for the months to come.

Sleep is still slowly improving, still have the odd night waking, but I wake up refreshed like I haven't in 10 years.   10 years of fatigue, restless sleep, insomnia, waking every 2-3hrs, always wide awake at 5 or 6am, frequent urination, night sweats, no dreams... haven't need a alarm clock for years, because sleeping in is just not possible.

So even after 2 rounds of accutane, high dose CLO, high dose retinyl palmitate, high vitamin A diet for my whole life, my body is climbing up out of the hole.

That’s wonderful Orion. I know you’ve been through a lot and I’m so happy for you. Bella

Good to hear Orion! Glad you've been making progress. Could you share your main diet?

Thanks @bella

@janelle525 Here are my daily staples,  tracked it in chronometer yesterday:

https://ggenereux.blog/discussion/topic/low-vitamin-a-diets-are-too-low-in-calories-kilojoules/#postid-2097

And my main list:

lean beef, lean chicken/turkey, egg white, non fatty fish, nuts
coconut oil, olive oil, safflower oil
bread, pasta, rice, potato, beans, oatmeal, non-fortied cereals
cauliflower, turnip, celeriac, parsnip, onion, garlic
banana, grapes, apples, pineapple, raisins
Apple juice, grape juice, coconut milk for coffee
Sugars, maple, honey, brown/white

Nice results Orion. I'm hoping my very oily skin stops producing so much sebum. My nose produces so much you can actually see globules of sebum form on the surface. I often use a tissue to soak it up. I have to spray hydrogen peroxide on my face every week to prevent an outbreak of Seborrheic dermatitis. I have had the dermatitis issue for maybe 15 years. Before finding out about hydrogen peroxide I just suffered with redness and flakiness on my face. Tim

Hi Orion, Great to see your progress. Awesome to hear about your eyesight changes. I also have presbypia however no noticeable changes yet. My sleep is a bit hit and miss still. I figure we are all different in how long it will take. Thanks for sharing

Hi Tim @tim-2, my nose is exactly the same, my face still gets quite oily, but the decrease in the last ~4months, seems like 50% reduction, less oil when I use blotting paper.  I haven't had seb derm breakout on my face for years, but the underlying redness is completely gone now.   I exfoilate every evening with cloth gently to prevent crusty buildup, but can see that this is needed less.  Compared to the rest of my body the face is healing the slowest, but it does have the most sebaceous glands, I suspect it will take a full year to approach complete remission for me.

I'm glad to see you're improving after all that!

Hi Orion,

Could you expand on mental sides if possible? How were you after accutane in regards to memory (short/long term), concentration, all round brain fog etc? Have you noticed improvements here as of yet?

And what have you taken out/added to your diet now?

Hey @kiero,

I only got what I would perceive is minor mental side, depression revolving around state of skin, and for memory it is having trouble remembering words, or substituting the wrong word (ex, saying spoon instead of fork, or rain instead of snow), the substituting drives me crazy.   I can say that both of these are slowly fading, but would like to give this a year to make a full decision on treatment.   I never really had brain fog or sexual sides, just draining fatigue, and real hard time putting on muscle mass, which is definitely mending.

I find the lower in VA I go, dropping foods that have pre-cursors, detox symptoms come forth(disturbed sleep, and skin purging).  So decided to quicken this process, and going rice, beans and beef for 3 meals a day, small serving of bread, honey, sunbutter for snack.  Even wheat has some carotenoids.   Still will use cauliflower, parsnips, celeriac with a few meals as well.

So improvements continue, but it is a very slow process for me.  Like Grant has mentioned, kids, younger adults, will probably respond much quicker.
