Quote from Orion on May 7, 2019, 5:52 amI am at 6 months yesterday. Still seeing progress in skin, mood, energy, body composition and workout recovery.
Still monitoring left eye presbyopia, hair shedding and deep sleep, hoping for more improvements in the next 6 months. Sleep is much better, but still looking to get to longer uninterrupted stretches.
Blood shot eyes have stopped, blue iris color continuing to brighten. Palm and feet calluses are continuing to move to a paler color, same around my eyes and upper checkbones where lots of brownish/yellowish pigment was stored.
Did 4 months of low ~100IU VA daily diet, with last 2 months closer to zero intake. Going closer to zero caused major flare in skin issues(acne, oily, dry flaky, redness), week to week it improves. Warmer weather is now allowing for some full body sun exposure, hoping this will start to push things further as well.

Would you mind share how your diet differs now compared to the first 4 months, and have you noticed any difference in detoxing except the bursts of more intense detox symtoms? Like, are the benefits greater (are you improving faster now compared to before)?
I am interested as my skin (amongst other things) gets worse with stricter diet but I may have wrongly connected that to a delayed A reaction from foods eaten some days prior.

Hi @liz, main difference was in the first 4 months I was still using wheat, oats, and white peeled fruits daily. Oats were used for breakfast every morning(1 cup dry). So in the first month as my body moved from VA flow in to VA flow out, I had minor detox and skin issues. During the 4 months my skin would have minor flares but the improvements continued in positive direction.
At 4 months I dropped oats and wheat/fruit daily, and went strictly rice/beef for 3 meals a day, this drop down to zero VA flow in, bought out the detox flares more severe than the first 4 months. I am now approaching 8 months, and skin continues to balance out, its a week to week improvement. Slow moving progress, it doesn't seem to quicken... I will stick to the zero VA intake until I complete 1-2yrs, before I attempt any VA testing. I do cheat though, but I don't gorge! plain potato chips, pretzels, some low VA fruits/juices, homemade low VA baked goods.
But yes, the lower in VA intake I went, the more drastic my skin freaked out. But the underlying improvements continued; less dry flaking, less dandruff, less sebum/oil, less plugged pores, less redness, yellowish blotches fading, and eyes returning to bright blue.
Wanted to add that my sleep is much better, but still has lots of room for improvement. Still sleep to lightly.

Quote from Liz on June 17, 2019, 8:04 amThank you @orion for your reply 🙂 . I am glad you are improving and stricter diet has made a difference. The eye color improvement is close to freaky! It seems for some, skin issues resolves first, for others last/later. I am in that category and you too I think, so I am looking forward to your skin improvement updates 😀 I wish I could do rice. Then I would stick to close to Grant style as well.

I suppose you are just over 10 months now? How are you doing?
Are you still taking activated charcoal and zeolite? Also high dose vit C? is that 4 grams or more per day?
If you could give an update on your diet that would be great. I was reading that 3 or so months ago you settled on more of a minimalistic black beans, beef and rice diet.
Cheers

Hi @kiero,
Very close to 9.5 months. I am doing well, but still have some lingering issues, unable to get more then 6hrs sleep(but very well rested), and if I eat to much fat; getting oily skin. Improvements in vision in my left eye have stalled at the moment. Also hair is still shedding more then I would like. Experiment continues, since I have seen more improvement with this approach then any other test.
Just returned home from a nice long vacation, that included many hours daily of full body sunlight and consumed lots of alcohol daily as well, this seems to set me back, even though I kept my diet very low VA. Thinking along the theory that I was dumping more VA.
I stopped AC and zeolite early on, as it seemed to make things worse for me. I've done low dose Vit C for the last few months, maybe ~200mg per day. Trying not to rely on supps if possible.
Staples are still rice, lean beef. I include in smaller amounts: black beans, low VA juice, honey, onions, garlic, parsnips, cauliflower, potato, coffee, bread, peeled apple
I took the summer off from doing liver flushes, but will be starting them again soon, every 2 weeks. I believe it is needed to help get more bile flowing to assist with fat metabolism, and hoping to continue to get VA depleted.
Hope you are doing well, thanks for checking in.

Quote from Orion on November 30, 2019, 1:07 pmOver one year very low VA. Still having skin issues, mainly breakouts, oily, and flakiness, but these symptoms are very reduced, feel like I am 50% healed.
One thing that continues to impress me, is the removal of colorization in my skin and especially my eyes. My irises continue to return to brilliant blue. Slowly the yellowish/brownish pigment, assuming retinoids are leaving the skin and eyes. The color in the iris moves from the center of the iris towards the pupil and sclera, clearing out in the middle first. There is just pigment hanging on near the pupil and sclera now, probably 6 months til completely blue again.
Second issues is sleep, I am well rested, but still cannot do a 8hr length, 6hrs before waking usually, some nights waking twice. If this ever returns to normal, I will buy a round for the entire forum 🙂

Haha, I hear you about the sleep thing. 😑 Not the best. Hope that improves for you!
Have you implimented any of Dr. Smith’s new recommendations regarding the diet?

Quote from Orion on November 30, 2019, 3:20 pmHey @puddleduck due to the nature of my work, can't post iris scans.
I do follow all of Garrett's work, but right now beef/rice 3xmeals a day seems best for me.
Ya the sleep thing, fingers crossed on this one!

Quote from Orion on November 30, 2019, 3:25 pmOh @puddleduck I started taking apple pectin for the last week, about 4grams total spread out the day, it seems to give my adrenaline reactions, cold wet feet, some night sweats, and more hungry... will continue until the bottle is done.
