The Calcium Connection

Oxalate Poisoning & Dumping: What It Looks Like, the Microbiome Myth & Why Zero Carb May Not Work

I have been carnivore since 2022 and within a week of starting that oxalate free diet I experienced oxalate dumping. I had tiny crystals coming out of my neck which looked like a rash and felt like poison oak. I could see them with a flashlight. If you want to see some examples of this on different people go to low ox grandma on Instagram. She posts very interesting shorts on oxalates. I soon learned how to manage my ox dumping by drinking a cup and a half of black tea a day. Just the right ammount to keep the crystals coming out but to not build up more.

Something I want people to think about is that when Garrett Smith ďid his recent video on calcium he encouraged people to only get calcium from the food they eat. I know from Sally's book "Toxic Superfoods"(she has charts in the back that list all the amounts of oxalate per serving of foods) that every one of the foods he listed is high in oxalates. Another thing he did was blame calcium for kidney stones. He did not however mention what the calcium binds to to form the stones or crystals. You guessed it oxalate!  Or oxalalic acid. I have been pointing out that he ignores oxalates on his X posts but he has blocked me now. I did start eating apples and a little oats in January and joined LYL. I am trying to stay carnivore with just a little fiber to help detox the vit A. I have been jaundiced before at the time I developed hypothyroidism about 20 years ago. I was vegetarian at that time.

@shannon-2 you really can't take Dr.Smith seriously.. Btw I don't think doing so restrictive diet like carnivore to "detox vit A" is a smart idea, because you can easily create another multiple imbalances while trying to fix one.. Our body needs a lot of essential micronutrients and they are all connected. I am not even talking about microbime etc.. So many people ended up with the worst digestion ever after years of carnivore. I don't think it is smart approach at all. Keeping eye on oxalate intake is great for sure..

@shannon-2

Hi Shannon.  Garrett is familiar with oxalate problems.  You are right though.  Lately, he is ignoring the issue.  I noticed that about the calcium oxalates too.  He has also pushed bananas for years.  Another oxalate source.

I wonder if he is ignoring oxalates right now on purpose.  From private and public conversations I am confident he ignored the calcium problem on purpose since at least January.  His argument there was that we transmute plenty of calcium.  He advocated taking zeolite so we could transmute calcium from the silica.  Just for grins, I argued what about all the aluminum freed up by using the silica in zeolite.  His reply was that the rest of the zeolite will lock up the free aluminum and transport it safely out of the body.

I am a little less than 1000% sure.  I think he stands to profit a lot on his new zeolite sales.

Curious that he cut you off on twitter and did not kick you out of LYL.  He banned me from LYL and blocked me on twitter the same hour.  Later he splained to someone wise enough to ask about it that I said something on another site about him and or Kelsey that I thought he would not see.  Curious on that one too.  More than a little sure everything I have written I wrote with the idea in mind for him to see it.

Will make my day to be proven wrong on any of it.  Are you on calcium connection?  If so please do cut and past that comment there to warn people.  Wonder what Kelsey and Garrett would do if you posted that comment on Home Page at LYL.  It is a valid warning.

@jiri

Garrett deserves to be taken as seriously as anyone else.  He is right on a lot of topics.  He was a huge help for me and a huge list of people.  He has been a great aggregator of knowledge on low vA whether he credits the appropriate people or not.  Unfortunate that he has overshadowed all his good work with marketing and hype.  With that all said, I am a huge fan of high salt intake.  Especially when a read anything Garrett puts out now.  I finally had a chance to see how his system develops.  Looks like Jenny Jones was more right about the amount of salt needed with him than I was.

Still I am glad I was in LYL and got tons of working well tested knowledge from Garrett and a lot of other folk (many of who got banned with me) on LYL.  Not so much metabolic minutiae as much as working knowledge we all tested on ourselves and talked out with each other.

Good example.  The calcium food source I tried last month is tahini.  Always hated it in my lacto ovo decade.  Crazy how much I learned in 40 years.  This time around I stuffed dates with tahini and plenty of salt.  Delicious.

More pertinent, this last week I developed symptoms I have not seen in 30 years.  Couple of them landed me in the hospital back then.  Boils on my legs.  Ferocious uncontrollable sneezing fits.  Firehose nose - running like an open faucet.  Massive chills up my spine into my head along with the sneezing and snot.

Feeling fortunate I grokked it more timely this time around.  Back then I got jammed up with antibiotic abuse, gall stones and later on kidney stones.  Funny how my last conversations with Garrett in private and his public comments since the calcium mea culpa are all about how he expects to see tons of gall and kidney stones.  He is already attributing it to "megadosing calcium supplements."

@joe2 you worry about oxalates in bananas which is low oxalate food and eat tahini at the same time when sesame seeds ARE LOADED with oxalates?

I followed Smith long before he started with that low vit A thing. So I can compare him over the years. He had good info when he started with low vit A. But now his streams are just insane parody and the people who take seriously everything he is saying are people with zero basics knowledge on biochemistry and so they are very easily gullible. It is exactly what I was talking about before. Him talking how copper is not even essential element etc. I mean I really believe that most people who follow him take statements like that as a fact and believe that.. That's why I said don't really on some cult or guru who is making money. It is dangerous.. When someone who followed him for years ends up with some aneurysm bursting because he was heavily antagonizing copper with zinc, molybdenum etc.. you think Smith with take responsibility for it? No he will just block him on all social medias and that's about it.

It is really scary to just think about the fact that majority of people who follow him now are not able to filter anything wrong what he says. They take everything he says as the absolute truth and fact..

Same goes for "gurus" like Morley Robbins and his root cause protocol. The amount of lives he ruined is insane. Do you think he cares? He blocks you from all medias and the business goes on. It is just perfect for them, because the rest of his desperate followers will defend their guru to death. In most cases it is they only community. So they really try to make it work even if it is slowly killing them..

So again like I said at the beginning it is simply so easy to be fooled by anyone who sound good if you really don't know what the person is basically talking about..

It is like if I listen some expert talking for example about all kinds of investing topics etc.. I have zero idea if that person is talking at least some truth or facts or is just kidding me. Because I don't have even basic knowledge on this topic. That's why I would never ever trust someone in this topic with my money. If I want to invest or whatever I have to simply learned it myself. Otherwise I am just naive and very easily gullible person who can just easily lost his money..

 So if you don't want to gamble with your health. You simply have to learn the basics(so you can spot instantly crazy incorrect statements right away and so you can decide if you should even keep listening to that person) otherwise you are always just hopping if you get lucky that you pick the right idea/protocol/diet/guru whatever for your body.. It is simple as that period..

Funny that many people even filed a lawsuit against Morley Robbins and his root cause protocol for example.. Because they trusted him, but it ruined their health..

I mean how naive those people are it is INSANE.. That protocol also almost killed me back in the day when I had no idea what I was doing..

But at least I still had enough common sense in me that I knew it is my problem that I blindly followed some stupid protocol. Nobody forced me to do it with gun pointed on my head..

I mean people simply don't want to take responsibility for their actions/body at all. They would rather blindly believe someone, get fucked and then blame others. It is just crazy...

@Joe2 How do I join the calcium connection? Do I have to be invited? I didn't see where I could join or create a password. Thanks. Also if you want to post my comment about calcium and oxalates on there I don't mind.

Hey Joe,

Probably the reason little g blocked me on Twitter but not LYL is because I have a different name on Twitter. I think it was my comment on how people would get sick of his tunnel vision soon lol. Hey, this kind of hit me the other day after seeing his new Live on MSG. He also promotes guar gum (sun fiber). So is he really the Additive Operative for yet another psy-op?

I do have another question.  Are people really megadosing calcium in droves out there? It annoys me that little g  keeps making these sweeping generalizations to promote his own deal. I am just taking 600mg a day. His comment about people getting abuncha kidney stones is not realistic. Ive never had one but have crystals coming out every other organ it seems. For one thing not everyone is prone to them, for another we are not all burying our heads in the sand about oxalates. If you eat calcium with to below a certain threshold of oxalates you will not build up more crystals and if you never drop to zero oxalates you will not excrete them.

@jiŕi

going back to muscle meat carnivore. Had too many migraines doing plants. My digestión is fine after 3 years and I am more energetic and alert without plants. Tried plants/ carbs for 7 months. I got too sleepy and wanted caffeine. Most people do great on carnivore. You just can't suddenly start eating a bunch of plants after you've done Carnivore for years. You have to add things back in slowly if you are going to and some foods you cannot add back in. I used to have galladder problems when I ate plants esp peppers and any plant oils except coconut. I have no gallbladder problems on carnivore.
