...   I just went and read his tweets and some make sense to me, such as tattoos are probably horrible for your health....

That being said, my grandfather had a tattoo and lived to 93.   So don't sweat it if you have one.

In fact, just don't sweat it in general!   Stop it!

If I ever write a book it is going to be called:   "There is No Perfect Health, and Attempting to Achieve it Will Be the Death of You!"

I never paid attention to ray peat or heard of him til little g mentioned him

At one point his work became known in the Paleosphere and Matt Stone of 180degreeshealth became a fan of his work, incorporating a lot of his theories in his HED (high everything diet).

Towards the end of 180degrees, surprise surprise, this (unfamiliar) guy G.Smith popped up and started doing 'guest articles' and getting more of a prominent spot on the site. That's what lil G (lol) does....he jumps on a bandwagon of someone who's gaining traction and then tries to grab the limeligth and run off with it.

I am cool with joining the bandwagon thing.  It is what we all do.  it is grabbing the limelight and not crediting the appropriate people that is hypocritical.  Or worse yet, crediting them for awhile and then publishing comments negative about them later.

The irony of that tactic is that this is exactly what Matt Stone did.  And badly.  At least when Garrett jumped on vA bandwagon, he did actual low vA and he taught people (at least a few) how to adjust themselves better to get to prison / cowboy diet with least problems.  If nothing else he stated that as his goal.  Matt Stone's only diet that he has done himself with any consistency is the eat everything diet.  Bringing Matt Stone back into his close circle right away after calcium incident speaks volumes.  Those two are made for each other.

@lil-chick

I thought the egg show was over.  Least it seems that way.

Funny how we all talk about guru or cult or whatever like these are derogatory things or descriptors and or we are above them.  Feels like fish talking about how they really do not like water.  They used to be in water when they were over there in that muddy area but now, they got tired of it and keep over here where it is cleaner and they leave water alone.

Cult and guru is everywhere.  Ok there are a bunch of people who treat their teachers, peers and students weird.  And they earn and get labeled with the derogatory usage of the words.  Still we need each other all the time.  We are all making our own culture and teachers and students and peers all the time.  It is how we learn and work.  Even the worst of us at this skillset (those derogatory use gurus followers) are still doing the same thing.  I sucked at learning from others when I started.  Pretty sure if I live another 5 years I will look back on his blog and notice how much I suck at this now.

Meanwhile I pay as much attention to Lil g (am loving that) now than I did before.  Ok so he earned way more distrust.  It would be dumb to dismiss him now though.  My experience is that the source I just dismissed is the one that comes up with next good insight.

Ex: Old enough to remember Newt Gingrich crushing Clinton with Monica Lewinsky all day and all night everywhere.  Could not get away from media on it.  Funny news article came out of the NATIONAL ENQUIRER of all places about Gingrich at the exact same time serving his wife on her hospital cancer bed with divorce papers while sleeping with his soon to be 3rd wife while slamming Clinton all day and night over adultery.

No other news source touched that story for 6 months.  Who would have thought to look at National Enquirer for that?  What would have happened to that whole circus had NYT and WP covered that?  How much time did the Enquirer save me from giving much thought to the ensuing circus?

For sure on simplicity and efficacy.  While typing this I am letting another bowl cool.  I cooked up white basmati rice parboiled with charcoal then rinsed.  Also cooked up whole chicken with lemon, salt and a gallon of water.  It is so simple and so good it is hard not to burn my mouth on it.  Spooned some rice in a bowl and poured in some soup.  And I have not even taken the chicken apart yet to get some meat.  Mouth watering.  Um gotta go.  Have a good night.

Joe2 I like your fish analogy, it makes me smile.   Yes, I'm a very jaded fish.
