Oxalates and Salicylates
Quote from Neilky on July 10, 2019, 7:44 amI believe the increased blood glucose could play a big role in the slow adjustment back to clear vision after introducing carbs.. that makes sense!
During Keto I haven't nailed the reason but maybe I'm not strict enough for long enough. The increased visibility of floaters (in my eyes) is also very annoying on Keto. Wonder if it's a low sodium issue.
Thanks again..

I'm currently on my 3rd week of low VA, and I've experienced some gains. I came here because of significant cognitive impairments, anxiety, irritability, lower back pains, gastrointestinal distress, and difficulties sleeping. My health journey started with the carnivore diet, and during the first month, I experienced the most unbearable symptoms—severe heart palpitations and a global feeling of illness were the worst. I almost took myself to the ER twice. They'd oftentimes start either after I ate or at night. After that initial month though, I felt the best I've ever felt in my life—my mind was clear, my lower back straightened out, and my anxiety lifted completely. Actually it was hard to recognize myself. Then about a month and a half later after that, I experienced a crash—I felt cold, weak, and throughout the entire experience my digestion all but stopped, sometimes having a bowel movement every week and a half.
Close to a year later, I find myself here and strongly suspect it to be toxic levels of vitamin A that are at the root of my health issues. However, especially after reading your accounts, I'm wary of oxalates, and wonder if they too may have played a role. How did you conclude that you were toxic in oxalates? Also, what is your diet like now, presumably that you eat a diet low in oxalates and vitamin A—what does that look like? Beans seem to play a critical role in removing vitamin A by binding it to bile, though they're relatively high in oxalates.
And lastly, how is your health now; how are you feeling? Is it satisfactory or are there issues that still need tending to?
