What approximate range is your serum retinol in?If it's still high low dose vitamin C supplementation may be necessary to prevent subclinical scurvy. Because 7-alpha-hydroxylase is ascorbate dependent hypovitaminosis C can affect bile production exacerbating SIBO.
I just had it tested and the results came in today: 2.51 μmol/l as of September 2024. That's quite a jump, the last time I checked was in May 2023 when vitamin A was at 3.0 μmol/l. How much vitamin C would you recommend on a daily basis? Right now I'm taking 500 mg morning and evening.
SIBO causes zinc depletion. With SIBO, it can be difficult to replenish zinc without supplementation. Supplementation can have a profoundly beneficial effect on gut disorders. Replenishing zinc requires about 30mg per day for 1-2 months then 30mg every two or three days.
Okay, zinc sounds promising. Maybe upping the dosage to 30mg and taking it orally could bring some good results. I'm thinking about trying that.
How much high fibre food are you consuming like legumes, fruit and whole grains?
Not very much, here's what I eat every day that contains fiber: about 50g of beetroot, 30g of quinoa and 50g of cucumber. Very rarely I eat some grapes and bananas. Beans and other legumes cause problems: gas, sleep disturbances, and some mental confusion/irritation. Also raw eggs cause similar problems as beef: not being able to fall asleep, not sleeping through, and waking up too early without being able to fall back asleep. Maybe it's some undigested food getting into the colon. So stuff is getting fermented, or it is already fermented in the small intestine, causing all these problems. I also suspect low bile production.

Zinc deficiency may be universal in those with high serum retinol or liver dysfunction.
Normally I would think less vitamin C would be more appropriate than that but what you are taking may be about right given your high serum retinol.
Carlson Tocomin Suprabio is a good product IMO for anyone with high serum retinol. Full spectrum vitamin E is effective at mitigating a lot of the harm caused by Hypervitaminosis A. Gut health requires liver health.
Lecithin, low dose magnesium, low dose taurine and low dose K2 may also be helpful.

Quote from Jiří on July 11, 2025, 8:02 amHas anyone tried some strong supplements for pathogen cleanse? So far I am thinking trying this one https://cz.iherb.com/r/nature-s-answer-black-walnut-wormwood-fluid-extract-alcohol-free-1-fl-oz-30-ml/5445
Because it is crazy bitter it should help with bile flow as well.. My lymphatic system and lymph nodes under ears and tonsils are always sensitive for like since I was a kid basically.. I think my issues could be from some serious pathogen overload.. So I wonder if anyone has some experience with supplements like that. IT looks like this combination that is in that product is considered as most powerful. + maybe garlic and oregano oil..

If it were me, and considering parasites, I might go with ivermectin and that other one what is it? The two most common for doctors to use. I've heard you can alternate. I hope you get some other points of view. I think parasites can be a big issue... especially for those who have drank from streams or lakes without sterilizing the water.
For me, it could really be my baggage is Lyme which is why I react so poorly to antibiotics. There are protocols just for that I could look into.
