Paul Saladino

PreviousPage 2 of 12Next

Dude, what is going on with the veins in his neck and chest in this new video?!

I've always had bulbous veins that stick out in my own arms, but never around my neck and chest.  Paul looks like he's got something scary going on.  Is it possible he was pumping hardcore weights just before he started the video so he looked super inflated, and that's what causes his veins to pop?  Weird.

For anyone who's interested and has the patience for Bart Kay's antics, he appears to be tearing Saladino a new one on the fructose front:

TLDR: your Hemoglobin A1C does NOT accurately reflect glycation from fructose or galactose, only from glucose.  Therefore, Paul Saladino's HbA1C does not indicate that he's not being harmed by all the fructose he's eating, it just means that he's reasonably glucose tolerant.

Saladino seems to be graying rather quickly lately, accumulating a lot of wrinkles on the face, and getting sunburned.  Considering his fructose and liver intake, and his association with the Liver King, poor Saladino looks to have a dark future ahead of him.  He should've stopped with The Carnivore Code, that still serves as an excellent reference work for a carnivore way of eating.

I didn't watch the video. Nevertheless, let me add that Bart Kay has made some unusual, non-standard claims about the mechanisms behind health himself in the past. I am not the type of person who picks up on small changes to a person's face as a measure of future health issues, but to me Paul Saladino looks great for a (likely) 47-year old. His frequent surfing in Costa Rica seems to be healthy for him. Paul has reduced the amount of liver he eats per day, although maybe he should eat zero.

Paul's business partnership with Liver King has nothing to do with Paul's personal health. At this stage it is unclear (to me) what Liver King eats when the cameras are not rolling. His leaked emails from before he went public in summer 2021 indicate a lot of protein shakes, etc. I do think Liver King does intense workouts. Paul does not, other than hours of surfing a day.

@wavygravygadzooks what is up with Saladinos veins? Well he is like 7% body fat. So very lean body.. Btw that Bart Kay is just another keto quack. Watching his videos hurts my brain even more than watching vegans.. Saladino is hilarious as well. Now he is even drinking whole milk. He is basically on full blown Ray Peat diet. I think that he discovered him not to long ago..

Just adding that Ray Peat passed away on Nov 30th I believe.  Haven't seen it mentioned over here, and I believe lots of us were intrigued by his ideas at some point on our health paths.

What would be a possible explanation that Ray Peat's approach would work in someone?

@christian It is far from ideal diet for anyone, but it can somehow work for healthy person with very good metabolism. minus the hormones. Taking hormones is stupid if you don't have damage to the organ.. But if you put average obese person on his diet full of fructose, saturated fat from coconut oil, dairy, retinol, copper. That person will end up with NAFLD and diabetes. If that person already had this before then it will be very fast downhill path into the coffin..

I’ve never really known much about Ray Peat’s work other than he recommends high vA. However, recently I’ve come across some excellent articles on ocular rosacea and cholinesterase inhibitors and am respecting his intellect. He understands porphyrin damage, which I think is a huge issue and that’s quite unusual as no one seems to talk about it. I’ve become a fan so very sorry to hear he has died.
