PUFA, what are your thoughts?
Quote from salt on June 16, 2020, 11:42 amI notice a big decrease inflammation after about two weeks of keeping PUFA intake low. It has to be very low, approximatelyunder 4 grams per day. Then mead acid production really ramps up. Makes a big difference with regards to my asthma and brainfog. Cheating reverts it and I need another 2 weeks before I get back to that high mead acid state.

Quote from lil chick on June 17, 2020, 6:36 am@tim-2, yes they did eat iceberg and pickles! celery, a slice of tomato here and there. cukes. I remember wanting to grow iceberg lettuce in one of my first gardens as a kid and it didn't form a head and I was bummed.
Pizza was a treat, you might get taken to a pizza parlor fir your birthday as a kid, for instance. People didn't eat out as often (nor takeout)
It seems to me that cheese was much more of a controlled condiment, not a food group. It seems to me that cheese slowly increased until a heyday about 10 years ago where it was slathered on everything. Now, IMO, you often have to ask for it. (expense?)
Funny how sometimes you do get a glimpse into "perfect" people's eating habits and they are completely "normal" and not 0ath-orexic at all. I once saw an interview with a previous Miss America and she said she ate meat and potatoes type diet. Sandwiches. 😉

Looks like she had a va diet from hell... it even says she took multi vitamins as well...
On her wikipedia it says:
Her health was also failing: she was in pain from gallstones, and her drug addiction was so severe that her make-up usually had to be applied while she was still asleep under the influence of barbiturates.
Instead of working, she spent the first six months of 1961 preoccupied by health problems. She underwent a cholecystectomy and surgery for her endometriosis, and spent four weeks hospitalized for depression.
This was in her mid thirties.
She was attractive because of makeup and expert photography etc. Most movie stars look very ordinary when you take those things away.

Makes sense.
When you say meat and potatoes do you literally mean steak and boiled potato? I forced myself to eat fillet steak the other day and didn't enjoy it. I dislike fried meat (apart from bacon) like steak and lamb chops, I dont understand why people like it. Fried pork steaks make me want to hurl. I love roasted beef or lamb, meat stew or meat pies so I can do roast meat and mashed potato. I prefer fish and chicken as staples though and I prefer grain products to potatoes although I do eat some potato. Roasted parsnips over roast potatoes any day of the week.
Beauty pageants are so deceptive, often the contestants look completely different without makeup and many are not beauties without it, often even after plastic surgery. So many women now get plastic surgery and wear makeup at all times. I admire natural beauties, not frauds.

Quote from lil chick on June 17, 2020, 1:34 pmThings didn't go so well for Marilyn over time, did they? Time was a bit easier on this beauty paegent winner, and in this interview she mentions chicken and potatoes. She and I are exactly the same age.
