Rosacea and Seb derm

PreviousPage 10 of 14Next

Hello guys I'm wondering if I should try hyrdogen peroxide on my rosacea.    I'm just a little scared because it seems awfully delicate.

I suppose it is also similar to what other people I've seen say about putting apple cider vinegar on the skin.

Both seem a little scary.

However, I really wish I could help my skin along here.  I almost feel the patches of flakes and papules stand out even more now than it used to.  It seems like my background face might be lighter.

How do you do this?  thx

It gets worse before it gets better and then it keeps returning. I still suffer from powdery and flaky skin periodically and I dont even have a skin condition, so it must be way way worse for you. I just tough it out, but bicarbonate baths helped my feet a LOT! If you decide to try anything, maybe try a small area first to see how you react, and wait a few days to compare with the untreated area? Oatmeal baths might help too, it has been used on eczema at least🤔

Thanks Liz!  In the spirit of Grant and home science,  maybe a little study (with a control even).  Not really sure how often I should do the swipe though.  Just in case something has moved in (like yeast) and made itself comfy...

Forehead:  cotton ball with distilled water only

Left side:  cotton ball with 1 part distilled water and 1 part H202

Right side:  cotton ball with 1 part distilled water and 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar  (oops this seemed harsh.  modifying see next post)

If neither works, I can try the bicarb... 🙂

In the past I've tried a borax solution and clay.  Of course, I wasn't low A'ing and if A is the problem, nothing topical would have worked.  So those might be worth another try.

Here are some instructions on how to use ACV on acne.  They recommend a 3 to 1 ratio and eventually rinsing.

After two days I had to let the forehead group into the study group for ethical reasons.  🙂

Both the h202/water and the vinegar/water seem to be helping.

I suppose it is what Grant talked about, about the skin being open to infection.

However, I could swear I've actually tried the vinegar idea a long while back and it did nothing without the diet changes helping from inside.

To be fair, I've also been off of alcohol for a few months.

@lil-chick you're a funny one 😂😂😂

Charles III was in the news yesterday for a cancer diagnosis.   He has looked very red and inflammatory for a long time.    Is it widely known (besides people like me who think about food ways all the time) that he is big into organic farming etc?   I remember learning that back when I was into the wapf.      I wonder if he has been "eating the rainbow" veggies,  downing loads of organic cream and butter and eggs.     I wonder if he, as an avid organic farmer, read the tenets of wapf?    Could he have been a cod-liver-oil-taker?    Interesting that his mother, who lived such a long life, isn't red.    I also just read that he has a nightly martini.   I think daily alcohol has played in to my rosacea.

He's combatting climate crisis, eh?    ;).   Sounds to me like he knows something in his food is bothering him and he has started down the path of trying this, that and the-other diet to fix his inflammation.   Just like many of us here.   In fact, his whole interest in better farming might stem from feeling unwell and searching for better health.

Another symptom that makes me think that Charles III has similar problems to us here on this site....are his inflamed hands.    They make me think of the changes in Grant's hands over time.

No, I don't think his interest in better food is recent either.

I just searched to find out how old he is--75.    So in the 90's he was in his 50's.

I've been looking for food answers since college...  (the early 80's).  Sigh!

I'm probably the greenest person I know, but I think all the carbon reduction stuff is nonsense.    Carbon makes things grow.   I put carbon in my garden every year.   It grows gangbusters.   We're carbon based.    Cows grow on permaculture grass.   Animals and plants are the yin and yang of farming.   Carrots are much more destructive to grow than meat.  You're talking about all sorts of death when you grow a crop like carrots.   (rodents, bugs, weeds...)

The farmer next door pours toxic chemicals right onto our food and it runs into our pond... all he wants.  The green nazi's at the town hall only pick on my neighbor for planting tulips near the pond because of newts.

It's misdirection and making people think they are doing something, while the really toxic things that the big chemical companies profit off of.... don't change.
